Jenna Bush on the fence
Could Barack Obama's rock star-like appeal to young voters extend to a Republican first daughter?
President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush are solidly behind John McCain, the presumptive GOP nominee.
But when Jenna Bush was asked whether she was in McCain's corner, she was decidedly noncommittal. "I don't know," she said during an appearance Wednesday night on CNN's "Larry King Live" to discuss her wedding next month.
She went on to say she is "open" about the presidential race and has been too busy with her books to pay loads of attention to the campaign. "I mean, who isn't open to learning about the candidates?" Jenna Bush, 26, asked.
Obama has attracted droves of new, young voters in his surge to become the Democratic front-runner. In Pennsylvania on Tuesday, he won 60 percent of the votes of those ages 18 to 29, according to exit polls.

Nice try Foon... She's paying back McCain's daughter who voted for Kerry in '04. There is no love between Bush and McCain camps.
PS - Obama also lost 75% OF WHITE CATHOLIC DEMS. EXPLAIN THAT ABOUT OBAMA'S "ROCK-STAR-LIKE APPEAL'?
White Catholics don't like rock stars?
White Catholics don't like Rock Stars, maybe? They're too old generally
The Bush twins are infamously dumb as stumps and generally uninterested in politics, so her "I don't know" might be as deep as it is wide. Or it could be payback.
As for the white catholics, Jeff, we're not known to be the most tolerant bunch, are we? Nor are we known for christening rock stars ...
The article doesn't indicate that Ms. Bush even mentioned Obama. What makes the author so sure she isn't considering Senator Clinton?
We have a lot to look forward to if Hillary becomes President. No more perjury. "miss spoke" will be taught in schools and adapted in our legal system. Perjury will be outlawed.
I do think it is sloppy to take such comments and then try to indicate that Jenna is considering Barack Obama. I think she basically made some pretty vague, I'm not telling you comments. She didn't say "I'm so intrigued by Clinton or Obama" now did she? So why the author makes a presumption is simply a poor pass at journalism...independent-minded or not. It also undermines real journalism and real stores that are worth telling and reading.
Catholics may be old and whatever the latte libs want to play them off as... but explain to me how the so-called Dem leader, the Messiah, with all the cash, all the advertising, and all the media behind him loses the Democrats most important demo base by wipeout proportions -- 75-25.
Are they "typical white" people? Are they "bitter"? Are they "clinging" to religion? Do they reject the idea of Obama's pastor and his G Damn America ideaology?
Go Hillary!!!
I don't think she is Pro Obama. I think she is a fool, and probably didn't even know an electon was going on....
Who gives a flying f about white catholic democrats?? Black satan-worshiping republicans are where its at!!
Her saying "I mean who isn't open to learning about the candidates" can be a shot at or a call to all the mindless people who follow around Obama because someone told them too or because "He done talks good"
She knew this would make the news so maybe others can say "maybe I should look into all the candidates and not just who my friend told me to vote for because P-Diddy told him to vote for that person"
I am a white Catholic and a Woman - and I'm voting for Obama...
Why is Larry King now discussing wedding plans? When was his show moved to WE? Am I that out of touch??
Most white catholics don't like Black people
It is a reasonable assumption that Jenna Bush was thinking about Obama.. few people think it is likely that Clinton will be the nominee (though still possible) and in everyday language, Jenna is far more likely to be talking about Obama since most people see him as the Dem. nominee.
Our biggest challenge isn't a given party, it's that we're divided and bickering. We are all in the same ship called the United States of America, and we can make it go somewhere if we respect one another enough to talk and row in the same direction.
Why does the media always feel compelled to interpret statements that people make in answer to their questions, to the poor illiterate masses? I don't think they realize that their interpretation speaks more about who they are than who the people they interview are. It's why I skim most political articles for the one or two sentences that report facts and try to ignore the hype. However, I can see from other responses that this hype is what most responders like to zero in on. I can only hope that the vast majority of no responders are not so manipulated.
She looks like an intelligent girl from what I can tell off Larry King Live so I am going to guess she is closet Hillary supporter and is just waiting till after Daddy pays for the wedding to spring the news on him...
Can you see it folks, big sign in front of the white house,
Bush for Clinton
Just a little humor :)
