Obama hits Clinton on lobbyist money
Barack Obama, trying to show that he is in touch with average voters while his rivals are creatures of corrupt Washington, launched a new web-only ad today that hits Hillary Clinton over lobbyist money.
Obama's campaign asserts that Clinton has taken more than $800,000 from lobbyists, more than any other presidential candidate. Obama points out that he doesn't take money from federal lobbyists or political action committees, though he has accepted campaign cash from other lobbyists.
The spot, designed as an old-fashioned public service announcement, lays out a "three-step guide" to influence-peddling in the nation's capital:
Lobbyists donate to politicians (showing the $800,000 figure), politicians defend lobbyists (showing Clinton saying at a forum last year that she'll continue to accept lobbyist money because they represent "real Americans), and Americans pay the price (showing rising gas prices, prescription drug costs, and padlocked plants).
"We can't end the Washington game until we change the players," the ad concludes.

This ad should also be on TV in Pensylvania and other states.
Hillary has been taking advantage of voters ignorance and must be stopped aggresively. Imagine what they are trying to make out of Obama's recent statement? I believe Obama should attack her also on her Bosnia lies and the contents of her tax returns. Let's finish this race now!
HOW OBAMA HAS USED GEORGE BUSH/KARL ROVE TACTICS TO OBTAIN OVER $62,000,000 FOR HIS CAMPAIGN, SO FAR!:
The Washington Post -- April 11,2008 -- Obama gets plenty of money from big donors too: "Sen. Barack Obama credits his presidential campaign with creating a 'parallel public financing system' built on a wave of modest donations from homemakers and high school teachers. ... But those with wealth and power also have played a critical role in creating Obama's record-breaking fundraising machine, and their generosity has earned them a prominent voice in shaping his campaign. Seventy-nine 'bundlers,' five of them billionaires, have tapped their personal networks to raise at least $200,000 each. ... Donors who have given more than $200 account for about half of Obama's total haul, which stands at nearly $240 million. ... The bundler list also sheds light on those who might seek to influence an Obama White House. They have helped the campaign recruit more than 27,000 donors to write checks for $2,300, the maximum allowed. Donors who have given more than $200 account for about half of Obama's total haul, which stands at nearly $240 million. The use of bundlers was perfected by George W. Bush, who in 2000 and 2004 set some fundraising records that Obama has shattered.
To Fred Jones,
Obama gained at most $2,300 dollars from one person? Clinton gained upwards of $130,000 from one lobbyist? Seems there is a slight difference there. If i paid $2,300 for a car I wouldn't expect much out of it...but if i paid $130,000 for a car i'd probably hold that car to a higher standard. I know that I would be pissed if that $130,000 didn't do what i wanted it too.
What people apparently need to do is look at the facts themselves.
This ad should be on TV.
Clinton and McCain are nothing but shills of the special interests. The average American is left out in the cold. I am bitter, frustrated and angry.
Senator Obama has my vote.
Which means Obama owes the People of the United States who contributed instead of the Special Interest........GO OBAMA FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE
Barach Oboma was a follower of the Reverend Wright for a number of years and has talked about the good things the minister has done (in his opinion) but not much about the false accusations made by him and his church concerning their concern ( in their opinion) for the egregious acts committed by the U.S. Govt.
Now Barach is affiliated with George Soros whose views about our society and politics are well known. The speech made by Barach closely reflect George’s views on our country and his political science views namely the validity of our constitutional rights which include - the right to bear arms and freedom of religion.
I remember the Communists used to refer to our freedom of religion as a narcotic of the masses’ .I am concerned that Barach’s speech was a trial balloon to see how the public will react to Barach’s/ George Soros opinions and the direction they want the United States to go. Well he found out that the citizens of this country remain at odds with George Soros / Barach OBoma’s opinions.
Barack Obama is a con man. Do your research! He has taken money from bundlers and and influence peddlers - parsing words does not reduce his corruption.
A former supporter that grew tired of defending his lies and his campaign's nasty tactics.
Hillary and Bill have way too many corporate interests for me to trust them, the country needs someone new and smart, Barack has been to Harvard Law school. He is plenty smart and very able to be a president. Kennedy and Lincoln had no experience, yet they are considered to be the greatest presidents in our history. And, as for the experience Mrs. Clinton yaps about, she claims her experience has her battle hardened and ready to fight the Republicans and blah blah, but when she was down in the polls you saw tears. I don't think she is as tough as she claims, and I started out supporting her, but I have caught her in so many lies and cover-ups though out the past year, it's made me sick. The media is just to scared to attack her, "misstatement" COME ON JUST CALL HER A DAMN LIAR!
Rev Wright was a Marine and also in the Navy. HOW BAD IS A MAN THAT IS WILLING TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR THIS COUNTRY?????? Please read about his whole life, and then form an opinion about him...not just a 40 second video.
Obama's ad, when fact-checked, bites him on the butt. It's a total myth that Obama is above dealing with lobbyists and PACs. His own PAC in DC has been lavishly funded by DC lobbyists.
His claims of purity are disingenuous at best.
