Obama picks up new Western PA support

Posted by Sasha Issenberg April 15, 2008 09:33 AM

PHILADELPHIA -- As controversy still stirs over his remarks about "bitter" Pennsylvanians, Barack Obama will today claim one more ally to make his case to the state's working-class voters.

Jack Wagner, the state's popular auditor general frequently mentioned as a potential gubernatorial candidate, will endorse Obama at an appearance in Washington, Pa., according to Wagner's office. Wagner is a decorated war veteran and part of a prominent Pittsburgh political clan -- his niece, Chelsa, is a state representative already in Obama's camp. Wagner ran for lieutenant governor in 2002, on a ticket with Senator Bob Casey, who endorsed Obama two weeks ago and attests to his blue-collar cred in an ad airing now around the state.

  1. Obama is telling the truth. If american can not tell the truth about being bitter about what is happening to us whether we use the word anger , bitter and fed up it all describe what we all are feeling and going through. It is time for the true to be told. Hillary and Mccain will not tell the truth because they only worried about getting votes.I am very bitter about the high gas prices and the high cost of food that I can't if feed my children.

  1. Sad, isn't it when a candidate to the US highest office finds it necessary to distord well-intended words by her opponent! A way to avoid questions about matters that really count? Like NAFTA, CAFTA, why PA has lost so many jobs during the last 20 years or so? Or possible secretive deals with some national and foreign financial interests? Any first grade kid can pick up any word and complain about its hidden meaning. And you will always find people who will repeat the criticism without stopping to think even one second.
FOX reports today that President Carter and Al Gore will team up to convince Sen. Clinton to drop out before damaging the Party to the point of no return. Let us all hope they succeed.

  1. Barach Oboma was a follower of the Reverend Wright for a number of years and has talked about the good things the minister has done (in his opinion) but not much about the false accusations made by him and his church concerning their concern ( in their opinion) for the egregious acts committed by the U.S. Govt.
Now Barach is affiliated with George Soros whose views about our society and politics are well known. The speech made by Barach closely reflect George’s views on our country and his political science views namely the validity of our constitutional rights which include - the right to bear arms and freedom of religion.
I remember the Communists used to refer to our freedom of religion as a narcotic of the masses’ .I am concerned that Barach’s speech was a trial balloon to see how the public will react to Barach’s/ George Soros opinions and the direction they want the United States to go. Well he found out that the citizens of this country remain at odds with George Soros / Barach OBoma’s opinions.

  1. I am enraged at Hillary! She is damaging the Democratic Party with her attacks. She knows damn well what Obama meant. I cannot believe that I used to love that woman. I see now that she is a "Democrat" in name only. What she really is is a political party of one; a power-hungry politico who does not know when to quit to avoid damaging her own "party."

If McCain wins, she will finally be the political and social pariah she deserves to be. And a former, once beloved president will be vilified for his participation in the disaster.

And, yes; I AM BITTER AS HELL! AT HILLARY!

(An aside to John's Son: BARACK OBAMA HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR OVER A YEAR. DO YOU THINK YOU COULD POSSIBLY LEARN HOW TO SPELL HIS NAME?)

  1. Hillary is ready to shove her "bitter pill" down anyone's throat who is not bright enough to refuse it, and see what a con she is. Clinton's have long been known for clawing their way to the top, no matter what "force" it took. (Illegal and criminal).

She should ba ashamed of herself. And, yes, HOW can anyone fall for her crapola?

She should stay in the bars, drinking shooters, and living it up with the good ol' boys.

She, and her top SAUDI aide Huma Abedin, (her latest gal-pal) need to go home!

Hillary is melting, and coming undone! I can't WAIT until the GOP unloads her trash all over America, if she does win the Dem. nomination. And, if she does, God help this country! She is a waste, with a criminal past!

Obama would be a President (finally) our CHILDREN could be proud of!

  1. Hillary&Bill have been dreaming to get back to the White House for too many years. They consider this presidency has an entitlement.
Hillary has become pathologically obsessed ,and is absolutely prepared to bring the party down if she doesn't reach her goal. The bitterness is in her.
If she is not the nominee, she will end up in a psychiatric hospital.
