Our sister paper has a fascinating look at the blogger whose report on Barack Obama's comments at a San Francisco fund-raiser launched the controversy-of-the-moment in the Democratic race.

Katharine Q. Seelye of the New York Times has an online report today on her interview with Mayhill Fowler, who says she has been besieged by Obama supporters and questioned about how she got inside the private event.

Fowler, one of the new breed of campaign bloggers, says she supports Obama and says she debated whether to report the comments, before deciding she had an obligation as a journalist. Once Fowler's report, along with her audio tape, was posted on The Huffington Post, it became the proverbial political firestorm that is still burning.
