Bellwether poll predicts narrow Clinton win in Indiana
If Suffolk University pollsters' track record holds, Hillary Clinton will pull out the win today in Indiana that she needs to stay in the Democratic race.
Clinton led Barack Obama 44 percent to 37 percent, with 16 percent undecided and 3 percent refusing to respond, in the Suffolk University Political Research Center bellwether poll conducted Sunday and Monday in Delaware County in Indiana.
The 7-percentage-point margin is close to the 49 percent to 43-percent lead in a statewide poll that Suffolk released on Monday.
Suffolk pollsters picked Delaware County in east-central Indiana, whose county seat is Muncie, because the last two times a non-incumbent president was on a presidential primary ballot, in 1988 and 2000, it mirrored not only the exact order of finish statewide, but was within 4 percentage points for the top three vote-getters in each major party.
"We'll be watching how Delaware County fares in today's election," David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston, said in a statement. "Historical election trends have put Delaware County in the Indiana spotlight. We'll know in a matter of hours whether this trend will continue in the 2008 election."
Suffolk pollsters say they used similar bellwether counties to correctly predict results in prior Democratic primaries in New Hampshire, California, Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Ohio.
In Pennsylvania last month, a similar bellwether poll in Allegheny County gave Clinton a 52 percent to 40 percent lead. It turned out, however, that Suffolk's statewide poll, which gave Clinton a 10-percentage-point lead, was closer to the mark. She won by about 9.2 percentage points.

How do you figure that 7% is a narrow win?! That's a sizable percentage. How about revising the headline to Clinton predicted to win in Indiana?
Did you complain when all the outlets reported a 10% win in PA when it was 9.4%? That's not a rounding error it's just wrong. Whether she wins by 7% or 15% she still can't catch up. She needs 50% margins (ie 75-25) in both Indiana and North Carolina to turn this into a race and that is just not going to happen.
She's done for Beth. Get over it. We can finally be rid of all the dishonesty, pandering, and deception, as well as the disrespect for the intelligence of the electorate. I look forward to a contest about the issues between two candidates with some integrity.
It's narrow because 16% of those polled are still undecided, meaning it's still really anyone's race.
I'll never vote for Hussein. I live in Chicago and All of my friends always talk about what has he done for us or the City? Please explain us Mr. Obama
I was thinking the very same thing! How is 7% a "narrow win"? Also, in recent primaries the undecided have broken more heavily for Clinton and those stand at a very high 16% here. I don't see how the headline matches the story at all. I suspect if Obama was 7% ahead, the headline would read "Obama to Wipe Out Clinton in Indiana". I continue to scratch my head at stories that seem to be purposly spun "anti-Clinton" in the media when the facts in the story are actually good news for her.
Folks you better realize that Hillary is a better patriotic citizen than her opponet. If you want to see ALL your money heading to thrid world countries, just keep supporting Obama. I would hope thta you liberals would do you homework on yoru people. Either way McCain heads to the WH.
Obama has put the most give away bill in history. 450 billion to countries around the world. this money will nver make it there. this is nothing but a plan put together by sanke oil salesman for this money to line the pockets of some of his friends. Same pattern as Bill, just a sneaky way to rob all Americans annd call it the good for mankind.
Indiana contest is like combination of Iowa and Missouri.
Obama will lose Indiana by no more than 4% and will go on to win the nomination.
Lets face facts.
Fact 1: Obama got into the senate and made an earmark for 1 million bucks for his wifes hospital. She got a 200K position change and raise (from 120K to 320K roughly)
Fact 2: Obama made so many earmarks that 7 out of every 10 bucks he earmarked failed in the senate (it looked too much like payments to his campaign contributors so they were removed)
Fact 3: Obama is so tied up in Illinois politics (and the corruption that comes with it) that he even bought a house with Tony 'The Bag Man' Resko who was giving him money from Auchi, an Iraqi-Britton guy that was found guilty in the worst corruption scandal in France since the 1940s.
Fact 4: The Obama campaign is trying to win at all costs because it is becomming obvious to even the most casual observer that if Obama goes up against McCain (McSame for the Dems) that Obama will loose, so it's win the primary at all cost (the cost being the White House).
Fact 5: Many Obama supporters use slurs like it's ok to be that ugly. They refuse to even discuss anything intelligently with anyone else (that's not a unity campaign or hope).
Fact 6: Obama still has yet to explain many of his campaign supporters (and where a lot of the money comes from).
Fact 7: Obama had one of the highest PRESENT voting records in the state of Illinois history (That's not normal, it's only normal for Obama).
It's about time the democrats unit (and include the centrist Democrats) or have the extreme left hijack the party and loose election after election (like the current Republican party is doing now).
Wake up Democrats. Do not loose our party to the extremists.
sizable win at 7 % in a state she was expected to win; HUGE win at 9% in a state that was to have been hers for 20% ... GROW UP, let the kids do the math!
How can anubody talk about Abama's integrity if he refuses to wear American flag?
He can't get the delegate count without the supers either. Where in the party bylaws says that whoever gets the most delegates wins the nomination? As far as I can tell, whoever get the magic number 2025 wins. Nobody is going to 'deny' Obama the nonimation. Obama has not won the nonimation yet.
I pray that 16% undecided and 3% that refused cast their vote for Obama so we can move on to McCain and the destruction of the Democratic party chances this November.
Hillary is passing herself off as just another working class girl despite the fact she and Bill made 109 million since leaving the White House. Obama, who really struggled, is seen as an elitist. It is interesting that her backers are mostly single mothers, the unemployed and peole with little education in dead-end jobs. These are the ones that pay little or no federal taxes and who delight in the bread and circus atmosphere of Clinton's campaign. The nation was founded on the premise of an informed electorate. If Hillary wins, she will be beholden to the least informed, least prepared and equipped members of this society to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The cruel joke, if she is elected, is she all they will get from her is empty rhetoric. No government program can reform industries not geared to the global economy. Those with low incomes and no education cannot be helped by her unless she institutes a redistribution of wealtn. No, at the end of an 8 year Clinton administration, the poor will still be poor and industries like the union dominated automobile industry will still be demanding contracts that will lead to their eventual demise, and there is nothing she could do to prevent it.
Go Hillary. Hoosiers love you!
Hillary can't win without big wins in Indiana and North Carolina but I still believe she's the most capable person running. Her tenacity in the whole process thus far, is amazing. Whatever you may think of her, she's a fighter. If she's not the democratic nominee the party will loose in November.
Hey Beth,
Polls are not election results. One county is not the entire state. And sadly for you and all of the other Billary supporters on this earth, it's not going to matter anyway.
Two years from now, you will be asking yourself why you didn't support Obama from the start. He is an honest man, a hard-working man and a man that cares about every American.
Obama '08 and '12.
Sorry to break it to you Timothy, but as long as Barack is still in the race we will still still have a modicum of "dishonesty, pandering and deception as well as the disrespect for intelligence of the electorate."
Poor Hillary is not only finished in this race, she was really finished back on Super Tuesday it's just no one sat down and explained the math to her less educated supporters who think they will save money on gas this summer. The bigger damage is she is done as a viable candidate ever. party insiders will not forgive and forget her willingness to ignore every party rule she agreed to when it did not suit her and take down the nominee because she can't have it. Her only real future in politics will be aa a republican and I doubt they have use for her after this primary. She is the political equivillant of a used up ho who no one wants anymore.
Why does the Obama camp get so upset when they run into opposition. Its obvious they expected a free ride. The hypocritical comments of the elite few have never been so available and flowed so freely.
Hmmm - if we are rid of all the dishonesty, pandering, and deception does it mean that my choice in November is limited to "none of the above"?
Hilary should not withdraw. She still has a chance to shaft the gullible.
Why shouldn't those who voted for Bush has yet another opportunity to
select a candidate who will lie to them, deceive them, then ignore them?
Not all Americans can deal with the truth, and she is a good match for those voters.
This drink contest on the homepage is disgusting. This is how we ended up with W. Give me a break already. I don't want a president who can down shots. I want a president who can know when to not start a war.
This race has been all about her. Ego driven and co-opting her husbands record ( the good parts ). Any other candidate without the last name of Clinton would have dropped out after super tuesday.
Now her if I can't have it no one can strategy will make McCain the next president. As for her pledge to campaign her "heart out" for Obama I don't believe her. Her husband gave Kerry bad advice in 04, along with a weak campaign. Bill didn't want Kerry to win; it would have made Hillary wait longer. In the end she won't lift a finger for Obama...well maybe she will lift one finger for him.
Obama has not won in a very long time. He won when people did not know him. He won when it was all glitz and oratory, and people had not yet become serious about him being elected. Now, voters have had to take a sobering look at who would actually make the better President. This is not "who would you like most to party with?" This is "who will make the better President?" In the election of George Bush, people chose the "frat rat" because he seemed more fun, that is not a qualification for the Presidency, and America should have learned from the last 8 years that it really does matter.
Clinton can and will win. How can we not count the votes of Florida? The primary date for them was determined by a Republican controlled state house. They had a record turn out and their votes must be counted. In Michigan, Obama took his name off the ballot when he knew he would not win. There are votes there to be counted also. Michigan as a state should not be disenfranchised because of Howard Dean.
Hillary was your only chance thanks to revrend wright. Also thanks to the stubborn stupidity of the dem party, we will enjoy 4 more years. We rebublicans may be rich and mean, but we do know how to run our party. With obama you lose the electoral vote. I conceed the popular vote to you, but the electoral is the only one that matters and you lose with obama. www.electoralvote.com
I agree, Hillary is a smart woman, make no mistake, but she's possibly one of the fakest people I've ever seen. I'd be happy with McCain or Obama in the white house, even though I disagree with McCain's policies. Those two candidates don't view the other party as enemies, which is what we need right now.
Another, more arbitrary reason why I dislike Hillary is this: We had a Bush in the Oval Office. Then we had a Clinton. Then another Bush. Now another Clinton? Who'd be next after her, Jeb Bush? God, someone smack me for even MENTIONING the idea.
God, I can't wait til all the whining Clinton supporters dissapear, including that obnoxious KIKI MCClean and that shrilling pundit Lonny Davis. Poof!
I expect that after she wins in Indiana and holds Obama to a single digit win in North Carolina, the disgusting Hillary will spin on. She will call these outcomes great victories against great odds -- even though the media, and the right wingers of all sorts are attacking Obama and giving her a pass. There is even a "Pro-life" group now attacking Obama in Indiana. But not Hillary!!!!!
She is a sociopath but our media is run by others (Murdoch, Scaife, etc.) so they will not analyse her lies.
Luckily there enough Americans who are not fooled by her so she will never be president.
Why anyone with any real sense of values would want to see HRC elected as President of this country astounds me. There has never been two more corrupt people than "Bill & Hill" who have brainwashed so many for so long and never really been held liable for their actions. Their egotistical and self-serving agenda is beyond belief and I cannot imagine anyone being so naive as to not recognize that fact. They are both pathological liars (depends of the definition of what "is" is)
and will do whatever it requires to attain their personal goals.
They have been "wards of the government" since they left college and they will remain wards as long as they live as the result of their government "service" (highly debatable)due to the pensions they will receive when leaving the
government. We should all be so fortunate.
SHE COULD WIN 80 TO 20 AND STILL BE BEHIND IN DELEGATES AND POPULAR VOTE
obama/mccain lack integrity..........obama cant win.......besides, its the enviroment, stupids......earth comes first with integrity.....
The poll is ridiculous from a methodological perspective, having done 3.5 years of graduate work in political science.
Two electoral precedents is a meanginless sample size. One county? Spare me.
As far as the margin of error, they don't say whether it's +/- 7% of +/- 3.5%, a signifcant matter, other flaws aside.
A margin applies to both candidates individually, not to the net difference between them. Hence, the range for Clinton is 51 to 37% ; for Obama, it's 44 to 30%. Plenty of overlap there, aside from the other limitations.
Additionally, such a high rate of undecided or refuse to give response is very high, relatively, and that makes the margin in theory and practically very speculative.
Don't get too excited by this poll, Clinton supporters.
Clinton's political philosophy seems to be a cynical paraphrase of Abe Lincoln's: "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time.....and that's pretty good odds." Unfortunately, she may be right.
Tomorrow it will be over for Hillary or Obama. If Obama can't win now. he has to go out because with all advantages he has, money and supports, he still cannot conclude the business. Axelrod and Plouffe are using Soviet style tactics pouring all resources in Afghanistan and yet still lose the war.
If Hillary survives, she will be nominee and will easily beat McCain. Many Republicans will rally her cause and help her win. The real uniter is not always the one who always pretend to be. President Obama will be a disaster. He will be the biggest spender and divide the country into many classes.
The rounding in the PA contest primary results was interesting. Based on how many digits you take it out, all three of the following are true statements:
1. She had a double digit win of 55% to 45%
2. She won by 9.2%, 54.6% to 45.4%
3. Actually, it was closer to a 9.3% win, 9.28%: 54.64% to 45.36%
According to the Pennsylvania state website, the vote was:
1,260,937
1,046,822
Obama is finished...he can't win the blue-collar voters...the DEMS need to win these votes in Nov. Pretty simple....pretty straightforward.
Crocker - Integrity??? BHObama has integrity??? Please don't link John McCain with BHObama in those terms. Who aligns themselves with a ranting racist (Rev Wright) or unrepetent domestic terrorists (Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn) purely for political expedience in radical left Hyde Park, Chicago? What does THAT say about BHObama's integrity?
Walter Hanna you are an idiot! Talk about your money being given away, have you lookled at Iraq lately? I would suggest you need to check out your candidate as we are going to have the same thing we've had for the last 8 years with McCain or Clinton. She's George Bush in a pant suit.
Obama is Dukakis. He will win the nomination and then lose just about every state in the union. Sorry Dem's, you guys had a great chance this year but blew it by running this unvetted racist and another Clinton. Couldn't you guys find ANYONE worthy????? Wow the democratic party is in a sad sad state. Thank God we will not have another Jimmy Carter...
I hope she wins in both states.
She has proven to be the better candidate and runs miles around both Obama and McCain in her tenacity, vision, and concrete plans for how to deal with the issues.
Her gas tax holiday idea is innovative- taking a traditional idea and turning it on its head by having the oil companies foot the bill. It is a little relief but big on symbolism.
With Obama to the left of her and McCain to the right, she is the candidate who can do what Reagan did Bill Clinton did, bring in the Moderates.
Go Hillary! Hooray for every vote you gained from your hard work, day and night talking policy, talking issues, talking about people's pain. You're my hero! I cheer you on. Can't wait to salute you Madam President!!!
God, there is so much ignorance and hate in the world...just read some of these ranting posts. Why be so afraid of change? Should we only elect Bush's and Clinton's to the WH from this point on? Its been 30 years, lets get someone new in.
I can never see Obama winning presidential race. He is too intelligent and does not sell his knowledge and principal for votes like Clinton. Most American prefer someone with less intelligence like Bush. It is the problem with democracy--if you have a majority who do not understand basic economic how can they vote for someone who presents good economics. I read about someone writing how Obama will give millions to poor countries and ignors the Billions spent on useless wars.
Stupid people will vote stupid people. I am just puzzled as how Obama actually got so far to date. Maybe people will vote for someone who show intelligence even if they do not understand what they are saying.
Evelyn,
The gas-tax holiday is not innovate. It's a poorly thought-out, short-term solution that would create long-term problems. There is a reason economists everywhere are crying foul at it.
Let's look at what the gas-tax holiday would NOT do:
1) It WOULD NOT help the current economic crisis. It's an 18.4/gallon tax so let's do the math with a couple of average assumptions. Let's say you have a 20 gallon tank and you fill it up every week over the summer. This proposal saves you $44.16 over the course of the summer. This is the equivalent of giving up a cup of coffee for a few weeks.
2) It WOULD NOT lower oil company profits. Simple economics I think we can all agree on: removing the tax would cause more people to buy gas than without removing the tax. This means more money into the pockets of oil companies because Clinton won't be able to force OPEC affiliated companies to pay these taxes.
3) It WOULD NOT be beneficial in the long term. The holiday is a removal of the govt. tax on top of oil prices and removing this means less money for govt. funded programs. [This is an extreme example, but...] Do you like your kids to read? Schools are funded by taxes from state and local govt. Less tax revenue could mean cuts to programs that help our young/needy/etc.
Whether you're voting for Obama or Clinton, I urge people to REALLY look at what this gas-tax holiday would do in the long term for the people of this country, the oil companies who continue to stick it to the people of this country and the economy in the long term (one year and onward).
Bill Clinton did not "bring in the moderates". During his tenure as President the Democrats lost more seats in the house and the senate than any party previously had during a single presidency.
Furthermore, her "gas tax holiday" idea is not innovative - it's not even financially sound. It will end up costing taxpayers more in the long run and does nothing to address the reality of the oil situation, namely that gas prices are going to stay high and to an extent they *need* to if we're going to break our addiction to fossil fuel. There is really no chance of her proposal to have the oil companies foot the bill working, so the infrastructure that the gas tax supports will suffer instead (that's our roads, bridges, etc - and I seem to recall us having a bit of trouble with our infrastructure lately).
Say what you will about Obama being "to the left" of her - they're both conservative-leaning moderates when examined from a global scale, and I frankly don't care how far left I have to go to get a candidate who respects the American people enough to tell them the truth, even when it's uncomfortable.
Strictly on the basis of honesty and integrity (and really, any Clinton supporter who touts her integrity desperately needs to examine the MASSIVE number of legal investigations into her criminal misconduct; she has strengths but integrity is not among them) alone, I would prefer Obama OR McCain to her. America can't handle four more years of closed doors, secret deals, and lies.
Post 45 is a typical Obama supporter. Anyone who doesn't like my candidate is one of the following:
A) Stupid
B) A Racist
C) Afraid of change
I have never seen so many people afraid of conversation that does not diefy their leader....Oh wait I have..it's called Scientology...Or Jonestown....Or the Third Reich...
If you think he is so wonderful, and you know (with your super superior intellect) that he is the best man for the job, why then do you refuse to defend him with facts. Instead you have to attack those who disagree. That my friends is a cult.
Obama flavored Kool-Aide is flowing strong....
People with college degrees vote for Obama. People without, vote for Clinton. Read between the lines.
Is a 7% win a "narrow" win? In a general election, a 7% margin is major victory. Why is downplayed for Hillary?
I am a white male from Selma, Alabama. I support Obama. I voted for Bill Clinton twice, and saw Hillary and heard her fake southern accent when she visited Selma. It is but one more example of her duplicity and pathological dishonesty. For me it all goes back to Bill's lack of honor in not resigning, and Hillary's calculated attachment to him to foster her own ambitions. Scalawags of the worst kind.
Obama can and will settle the racial strife that has dragged us down, he can and will give a good example for young blacks to follow, he can and will give the US a new face that will enhance our degraded international standing.
For the record, I have a Masters Degree and I voted for and will be voting for Hillary Clinton.
I would never let White Liberal Guilt dictate who gets my vote. I want someone who loves this country and best represents my ideals. Obama and his racist pastor, his terrorist buddy, his bag man pal, his "never been proud of America" wife, and his holier than thou rhetoric about Hope and Change and change and hope...oh and a little more change..plus some hope, will never be that candidate.
Hillary will win. Obama will call us stupid racists.
Hillary's personal drive that is getting her no where is harmful to ur country. She will say and do anything to win. People that are tough and a fighter do not scream it any chance they get. These were usually the cry babies when I went to scvhool.
Barack is tough enough and help build us up and be respected around the globe.
Hillary, please go home, Pennsyvania, New York, Arkansas. I can't believe her supporters are buying she's ne of us. I do not have 109 million dollars. What's the deal with the contributors list for that library. She's have all kinds of people sleeping in Abe's bed. She couldn't pump gas or make coffee. Oh yeah she is one of us. All politicians lie, but Hillary wins the prize. She should go home and play that tape of her lying thru her teeth about the sniper fire. There is no way she forgot that, Chelsea was with her and she was not confused, she lied to get ahead.
A letter was signed by 230 leading economist against the stupid gas tax holiday idea, and how did Hillary respond? She has called them elitist and pressed on. This is very telling about the woman. She doesn't care what others think, even experts. She considers herself the smartest person around, and expects others to swallow her programs in their entirety with no compromise. How anyone can believe this is the leadership style that will bring us together, and take the country forward is beyond me.
So after super Tuesday Clinton freaked out and decided she better start attacking in order to get anywhere with anyone. When in doubt go negative even if it is a member of your own party. This has served to alienate and divide everyone, she still doesn't have the votes/delegates to win the nomination, the party is completely fractured, all the while McCain is on vacation. Her campaign has been a self-serving lie, she doesn't have the votes and she can't get them.
Clinton will be telling voters next week that Obama blocked the gas tax holiday and kept it from going into legislation.
Don't think so?
That's only why she has told voters on numerous occaisions that he was blocking the vote in MI and FL.
Sad thing is people will actually believe her.....
Do you think the DNC is dumb enought to give his nomination win to a white woman ? Keep dreaming you less educated Clintonites. Every way I run the math Obama is still winning as he has been. The funny thing is that supposidly tough vetted Hillary can't even knock out a Junior Senator she has to cheat. .
The analysts are right - the uneducated like Hillary, the college graduates like Barack.
Just check their spelling!
OK...Let's not forget that McCain IS Bush.......Willing to fight a war in perpetuity.......wants to continue the Bush tax cuts that made us a debtor nation and all of us less well off......wants to add to the courts conservatism by putting on judges who want to "strictly" view the Constitution...forgetting that what makes this country unlike all others is that we have a "living" constitution.....". McCain is an ancient joke.........pandering to Bush's right wing....No democrat or independent with half a brain should vote to continue the 8 years we've just been through.........8 years in which we can be proud of NOTHING this administration has done.
I'm actually rather surprised at all of this blind optimisim being thrown around in support of Obama. When has a politician ever operated in any fashion aside from pandering for votes, thinking about pandering for votes, or raising money to pander for more votes.
I'm not attacking Obama, he is what he is, a politician. I just don't understand this willingness to essentially deify someone who has practically no experience with national and international issues. At best, I imagine 4 to 8 years of the same. And even if he is as well intentioned as everyone wants to believe, wouldn't that just make him bumbling, and Jimmy Carter-esque?
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. People haven’t we learned already from this … I mean Bush had swamps of people voting for him because they thought he was such a “nice guy” or I vote for him because he would be someone I could hang out with…
Bush – 2000
Bush – 2004
Serious it’s happening all over again. Since when is the most important position in our country come down to “audacity of hope”? Nobody seems to be asking questions. I’m sorry I am not taking any politicians words without doing a background check. After doing my own assessment of Obama, there is no way I would vote for him. I’m sorry in life you are not just judged by decisions you make but also from decisions you failed to make at a time when it counted the most. Pastor Wright maybe is radical in his views but he also represents the best insight on Obama. He is right when he said that Obama will only say what he has to say because he is a politician.
- better the devil you know than the devil you don't', and means that it is often better to deal with someone or something you are familiar with and know, even if they are not ideal, than take a risk with an unknown person or thing –
Obama has way too many skeletons and is a risk for the Democratic Party. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so come November if he becomes the Democratic nominee.
Charlie (Poster #47) has hit the nails on their heads. The continuation of closed door smoke and mirror autocracy within the white house for the maintenance of the corporate status quo at the expense of us all has to stop or the base has no chance. Today McCain has stated that he would continue the policy of placing ultra-conservatives within the judicial system. This is bad news for for everybody but corporate giants, as we would continue to see our freedoms erode in favor of the unchecked flow of the almighty dollar to bloated, inbred, corporate overhead.
Not to be a complete stickler, but one spelling error that is repeated again and again and again in the comments here is the word "lose". "Loose" means "not tight". "Lose" means the opposite of "win". Drives me nuts when I see that all the time.
If the Superdelegates hand Hillary a win despite Obama winning more states, more popular votes and more elected delegates, expect the Democratic party to fracture. This will be shades of Bush being handed the election in 2000 by the Supreme Court despite losing the popular vote by 500,000 votes and losing Florida. One giant voter fraud scandal per decade please (not that the superdel deal would be fraud - but going against the will of the majority?? Bad idea).
I am kind of confused by Clinton supporters, you want Clinton to be handed the nomination even if she is not ahead in the delegates or popular vote? Can not you see how destructive that would be. I think the supers are designed to settle these disputes not subvert the process. Anyway, I don't care who the supers vote for at this point I just want this primary over neither can close this with the remaining states so the supers need to decide that is the only way to finish this without doing more damage and basically electing McCain.
hey michael -post 49 I have read(or is it red? for us dumb folks) between the lines, what you college educated smart people don't seem to get is reality--the black man with the muslim name and ranting preacher just flat out can not win in the general. maybe when you get as smart as you are you become stupid. now you and i may not like why that is---it still is! So when you dribble out your candidate obama and he loses, and we get screwed for four more years, please remember just how smart you are.
To win the Democratic nomination you must have 2024 delegates. The rules do not say that the person with the most delegates wins or the person that won the most states or the most popular votes wins. Its 2024 delegates. And since neither candidate will have that many when the convention convenes then they will fight to get it.
So unlike your wishful thinking Timothy Crocker, neither Hillary nor Obama is done for it.
It's IRRESPONSIBLE to vote for Obama... for the simple reason of wanting SOMEONE NEW in the White House.
NEW doesn't necessarily mean GOOD. Some NEW stuff can be TAINTED.
Obama bloggers have OD'ed on Kool-Aid!!!
OBAMA, TUCC is looking for a new pastor! Good judgement is not required!
i is gonna vote for Mccane or Hilery. I cant understood peeple who wants Obama to win. They is stoopid if yoo aks me, not smart lik me. Wake up Amerika and vote rite.
Walter Hanna's comment has so many grammar and spelling errors it is difficult to read. Learn to read and write like the smart liberals.
Can you see the Republicans this fall?
barack HUSSEIN obama
God Damn America
It'll be old news by then, which it should be now. REMEMBER; that someone else said those words; NOT Obama!
There's plenty to come back on McCain with. Barack Obama is a fine man and will be a great leader. He wants to bring people together. We urgently need him in the White House!
Hillary, on the other hand, has a boundless lust for power. And she'll do anythying to win - lies, smear tactics, trickery - whatever it takes. She talks about 'obliterating' Iran. She'll need to show she's as tough as the boys. That's not the kind of sabre rattling we need in the world.
More primaries, more poor showings by Sen. Obama. Too bad the November election is by secret ballot. And courts don't allow any of the obstacles to voting established by the Obama Dems for caucuses.
Let the people vote (even the downclass).
yoyo all, keep it reel!

The basic problem with Hillary is her evident inability to beat McCain even if she would manage to con the nomination. The case is that not only herself, but some brain-washed voters either are confusing being a fighter and being a b..ch.
Being a fighter means to be ready to sacrifice your dearest personal things like your life or health to win, and Hillary is ready to sacrifice just her voters' money and her party's election success, nothing personal. Being a b..ch means to say or do anything to destroy somebody (what she is consistently doing).
Therefore, b..ches can only deal with nice guys like Obama who tries to show "some constraints" when competing with his party fellow. But they, b..ches, have no chance against a real fighter, with no ever constraints, like the older outgoing soldier McCain who already made real personal sacrifices in Vietnam war. Although he was not under sniper fire in Bosnia, but survived 5 years in Vietnam POW camps, let alone being under actual fire over there.
Just recall him joking, with no actual reason, but for fun: Why is Chelsea so ugly? Realize, if a real competition starts, all Clintons' dirty laundry of 90s, let alone recent developments (like the pending lawsuit in Los Angeles), would be brought to the daylight and put on Hillary, and she would have to go into such a deep defensive position, unless somewhere deeper, that she would not get any chance to even show her ability, much less to have it, for real fighting. Her only real experience is just a huge baggage of scandals brought from the past.
Republicans dream to have her as an opponent in November so that even Mr. Rove is now explaining to Democratic
superdelegates (fortunately, they are not those less educated folks like her habitual voters) on 10 reasons why they should prefer her to Obama. Therefore, voting for Hillary now is like voting for McCain (so he supports her like they are a team), so think again who you would wish for President.
Here is a brief list of those people who are now actively supporting Hillary Clinton’s candidacy: Pat Buchanan, a charming man slightly to the right of Genghis Khan; Rush Limbaugh, the most voluble and incendiary of right-wing talk-show hosts; Richard Mellon Scaife, the media mogul who financed the virulently antiClinton crusades of the 1990s; and, if you read between the lines, even Karl Rove, the “architect” of the past decade or so of Republican dominance in electoral politics.
