Chelsea in 2016?
If Hillary Clinton doesn't make it back to the White House, maybe former first daughter Chelsea will.
Former President Bill Clinton tells People magazine that Chelsea Clinton, who had stayed far away from politics, could jump in.
"If you asked me before Iowa, I would have said, 'No way. She is too allergic to anything we do.' But she is really good at it," the former president said in the interview.
"It all changed after Iowa," he said. "She realized her mother lost Iowa 100 percent because of younger voters. She was upset, bawled, went to her employer and said, 'Look, you got to let me go or give me an indefinite leave of absence. I'm not letting my mother go down like this.' "
Chelsea Clinton has warmed to the campaign trail and has become one of her mother's most important surrogates. She made news for saying publicly that she believes that Hillary Clinton would be a better president than Bill. Some observers say she combines her father's gift of connecting with people with her mother's affinity for policy detail.
In the People interview, Bill Clinton called his daughter's "emergence" the "second best thing" of the campaign, after his wife's "ability to endure in the face of all the blows that have been rained on her: outspent, dismissed, denigrated, declared dead...She is having more fun now than at the beginning. If you look at her, she seems perfectly relaxed, doesn't she?"
Shouldn't he mean 2020; I thought the Clinton plan is to destroy the Democratic party so that she can re-run in 2012? That means Clintons/McBushes from 1980-2028. Give me a break.
It's time to move beyond the past and look to the future. Plus, working for a hedge fund does not qualify Chelsea to run for anything.
Well, if an unaccomplished state senator from Illinois can be elected president, I suppose anyone else can as well. Gosh, it's such a straightforward and uncomplicated job. Who needs to understand little things like energy futures, market manipulation and Enron loopholes? And the subject of sovereign weatth funds and Saudi petro-dollars taking over U.S. banks - not an issue a president needs to be on top of. Heck, in the United States, you can say a flag pin is nonsense one day, then have one plastered on your suit for the next six months going into a general election, and no one will call it pandering. (Of course, if you propose an actual solution to a problem, like high gas prices, that's another story.) You can say that Iran is a little country that poses no threat, and in your next speech claim it's a "grave threat" to our national security, and no one will question whether or not you actually have any marbles in your head. As long as you're the one and only "change" candidate running of office, you can say or do anything you want and still triumph over a policy expert with 35 years of service actually getting things done. Boy, what a bright future we have as Americans. By 2016, Chelsea Clinton may be digging through the rubble of another terrorist attack we didn't see coming because of all the unaccomplished people we've been promoting to the top year after year after year.

She should probably run for something a bit more reasonable first, don't you think? Or does puberty in the whitehouse count as enough experience to be president? I hear she was also with her mom during her perilous combat tour in Bosnia too. Seriously though, it should take more than a family name to run for president. There are several hundred people that are more qualified to be president than Chelsea. Lets start with all 50 governors and 100 US senators to begin with. She should get elected to one of those offices, preferably governor, first and then maybe we can talk seriously about her aspirations.

Over my dead body Chelsea will be president in 2016! I'LL BE PERSIDENT IN 2016! I already picked out my desk set for the Oval Office. Chelsea will have to wait AT LEAST until 2024 to run for office when Jenna will give her a run for her money!

I liked Bill & Hillary before this campaign. Now I see what Republicans have been saying all along.

Bill, Hillary, Chelsea... I am so sick of the Clintons. I was tired of Bill when he was president - now I'm tired of his wife... their daughter has nothing to offer but celebrity.
Please fellow Americans - can we please be more intelligent and discriminating? We're just getting rid of one idiot president (Bush) because his daddy was president....
