McCain ad focuses on economy

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor May 9, 2008 07:41 PM

John McCain, hammered by both Republican and Democratic rivals for his admission during the campaign that the economy isn't his strong suit, tackles the issue head-on in a new ad airing in the key swing state of Iowa.

"The great goal is to get the American economy running at full strength again -- creating the opportunities Americans expect and the jobs Americans need," the ad shows McCain saying in a speech.

The announcer adds: "As president, John McCain will make taxes simpler, fairer; energy cleaner, cheaper; healthcare portable and affordable; corporate CEOs accountable; mortgage debt restructured. Big ideas for serious problems."

  1. As an Independent I support John Mccains economic vision than Barack Obama because with Mccains proposal Americans whether you agree it or not can see the light at the other side of the tunnel.Barack Obamas long term proposal is an everlasting darkness without a single shed of any light. My fellow American think hard and I mean really really hard because our worst economic nightmare is the current wave of excitement on Barrack Obama.
