More signs of Democratic disunity
Democrats in West Virginia are even less willing to forgive and forget if their favored candidate doesn't become the nominee, according to early exit polls.
Among those supporting Hillary Clinton, just 36 percent said they would vote for Barack Obama in November, while 35 percent would defect to Republican John McCain, according to the exit polls conducted for the TV networks and the Associated Press.
Among Obama voters, barely a majority, 51 percent, said they would vote for Clinton in November.
Those numbers of voters willing to vote for the other Democratic hopeful are down from recent contests.
In last week's primaries, 48 percent of Clinton voters in Indiana and 45 percent of her supporters in North Carolina said they would back Obama in the fall. Among Obama's voters, 70 percent in North Carolina and 59 percent in Indiana said they would be willing to support Clinton instead.
