Bush legacy tour rolls out

Unions supporting Barack Obama are taking the tried-and-true bus tour to a new level.

Today, the "Bush Legacy Bus" leaves Washington, D.C., on a nearly 150-stop crusade across America through the summer and fall to remind voters of what its sponsors call President Bush's failures.

"The 28-ton, 45-foot long biodiesel-powered museum on wheels features interactive exhibits on the worst policy failures that grew out of the conservative agenda. Visitors will be given the chance to reflect on the Administration’s tragically inept response to Hurricane Katrina, mismanaged and endless war in Iraq, 'trickle-down' economic policies that favored the wealthiest Americans, and more," says the release from Americans United for Change, the tour's sponsor.

The first stop is in Dayton, Ohio, "to hold House Republican Leader John Boehner accountable for supporting Bush’s conservative agenda." The second is Louisville, Ky., "to do the same for Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell."

Americans United for Change is supported by the AFL-CIO, the Service Employees International Union, and others. Democrats, and Obama himself, are arguing that Republican John McCain would represent a third term for Bush.
