Father Pfleger put on leave from parish

TO ALL ROMAN CATHOLICS OUT THERE, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A CATHOLIC PRIEST ACT IN THIS WAY??
His church services are not of the Catholic faith at all. I have never seen such carring on while the Gospel was spoken. He belongs in some other faith that beleives in this sort of whooping and hollaring.
The cardinal is 100% + as far asi'm concerned.
One of the news papers said that Phlfager gives the Cardinal fits. Well, I have never seen an employee that was not fired for giving the boss pains!!!

IT IS TIME FOR THE CATHOLIC HIERARCHY TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION ON THE DESPICABLE ACTION OF father PFLEGER. HE SHOULD BE THROWN OUT OF THE CATHOLIC PRIESTHOOD! GAMES SHOULD NOT BE PLAYED WITH THIS ABJECT FOOL AS WAS THE CASE WITH ALL OF THE PEDOPHILES OVER MANY YEARS TO THE DETREMENT OF SOCIETY AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH!TRANSFERRING HIM TO OTHER DIOCESES TO HIDE HIS ACTIONS FOR AWHILE WILL NOT SOLVE HIS DEFICIENCES. THERE IS NO MORE NEED FOR PRIESTS LIKE PFLEGER.

This priest needs to be put out of the Catholic church. What an embarrassment to the church and it's parishioners.

Let me get this straight: Molest young boys..no punishment. Criticize Hillary Clinton, 2 week suspension. Wow, something is really wrong here.

As a Catholic in the Chicagoland area....I am embarassed by his behavior...Cardinal George did the right thing and the next step is to move him out of this parish......

This is a mockery. The catholic faith has never appreciated the works of Father Pfleger and are now using this incident to push him out of his church. Any man with the many accomplishments and good works of Father Pfleger should be praised and supported. How dare we silence him for speaking what so many people have believed since the beginning of this campaign, but were too afraid to speak openly. What kind of society have we become when we damn the men of God for being radical. Jesus was the most radical of them all and if the Catholic church wants anyone to take them seriously especially with all the sexual impropriety happening, they need to choose this day whom they will serve. And support his messenger. However if they are just wolves in sheep clothing, your day will come!

I must agree, What an embarrasment! I am so glad that the Episcopal authorities have finally taken this decisive action to remove Father Pfleger from his parish and hopefully from the Catholic Church. Pfleger’s prophetic messages far transcend the limited theological and ideological constructs of the Catholic Church. Pfleger’s words are relevant, challenging, inspiring and truthful all of which seem to stand in direct contradiction to modern Catholic thought. What choice does the church have but to denounce him? After all what religion would wants a person that speaks truth to power, stands up for his convictions, exposes inequality and speaks for poor, marginalized and hurting people? I must agree. What an embarrassment to the Catholic Church! I am so glad he is now free to walk in the fullness of his ministry.

With all due respect, the people saying that Fr. Pfleger is "speaking truth to power" and that he should be praised and how dare the Church silence him - do not understand the role of a Priest. Yes clergy can speak truth to power and support the poor and marginalized - Fr. Pleger is not being asked to take a break because of that. The Mass of the CC is 2000 years old, not to be subordinated to the personality of any man. Protestant Churches are started by men and thrive on the popularity of their leaders...The CC operates differently - They discourage cults of personality - he has horribly violated Liturgical practices. If you are not Catholic you may not understand that concept. Any good work he did for the people of his community is not what got him into trouble here - it is not fair to make it sound as if the Church is punishing him for feeding the homeless or educating people.

Yes finally something is being done about Father Pfleger....as Catholics we don't want him representing us......he should be free to walk......far, far away from Catholicism......no room for prejudice here....if he would have spoken the same words but about Obama......the country would be in an uproar.....his behavior is unacceptable.

The reason Father Pfleger should be asked to take a leave and reflect is so he can reconnect with the gospel values of love, compassion and forgiveness. His comments at Trinity were mocking, unkind, unchristian and laced with racial overtones. And the congregation stood up and applauded this. He, in essence, was teaching the congregation to speak and act in a similar way. His status as leader said it is OK to ridicule those we don't like. This is deeply divisive behavior and makes it hard to heal the deep wounds of a community.
Father Pfleger needs space to reflect and heal at the soul level. Sound guidance, kindness and compassion from his superiors will help him move through this great test from the Divine. He is in my prayers.

Pfleger is a media whore. Send him to do charity work in Africa.

Sad but true, Pflager didn't apologize to anybody. As a Catholic priest, he's a highly educated man, accustomed to working in words. He knows that an apology is when you say sorry to somebody you've hurt. His "apology" didn't do that, but was cunningly worded to suggest it did.

Remember, Catholic priests are apology connoisseurs. Over years, they hear many penitents apologizing to God in the sacrament of Confession.

The Pflager hope-I-get-away-with-this statement in place of sincere apology was as slimy as his toadying televised attack on Clinto was exuberantly horrid. In his "apology", he says that on that earlier occasion, he hadn't meant to be mocking anybody. Disgraceful. Merciless. Perhaps, in Catholic terms, sinful -- and conspicuously so. Exactly the kind of scandal no serious religious denomination can be expected to condone.

My first thought, after the obvious mocking of Hillary and the racist words, was that he was making fun of black preachers. He just looked ridiculous, so self-serving, so into himself. And what was with his holding the bread. I hope he did not pray the words of consecration over it. What a nut case.

I feel the that Father Pfleger, has the right under the constitutions freedom speech act to speak his mind because the majority of us (we the people) feel personally that what he said was the "TRUTH". And the actions she displaced after the last primary on June 3rd, is evidence that she feels entitled to be nominated. Yes, it's true she ran a hard and good campaign but, Senator Obama graciously acknowledged and praised her - BUT, she didn't reciprocate, and I think that was very ugly and unprofessional and at that very moment my opinion of her changed to dislike. I'm just sorry that Father Pfleger, was penalized and placed on 2 weeks leave instead of a reprimand. REMEMBER TO FORGIVE IS DIVINE.

The clergy must choose their words because as shepherds it would be disastrous if by their words or deed their flock should get lost. remember it would be better if that man had tied a mill stone and jumped into the sea.

I think Father Pfleger, has forgoten that his job is to shepard people to the lord and with the help of our mother (short cut to the lord) hopefully hear the lord tell him good job my fathful servent. He has fell into one of the satins traps. We should pray for him. This is what our kind and merciful lord showed us. He is alining himself with a supporter of killing babys (obama) . He is confused and in dire straits. Prayer with fasting for his soul, might open his ears to the lord. Remember the lord knows betrail (Judas). We must be strong and merciful, as children of the light. Remember the Catholic Church is protected from the gates of hell by order of our lord King of heaven and earth Jesus Christ the one and only Lamb of God.
