Obama barely leads in New Hampshire
A new poll shows John McCain within striking distance of Barack Obama in New Hampshire -- one of the states that McCain has the best chance to flip to the Republican column in November.
The poll by the University of New Hampshire survey center found that 46 percent plan to vote for Democrat Obama, compared to 43 percent for McCain, a lead within the poll's 4.5-percentage-point margin of error. Only 51 percent of those surveyed July 11-20 had definitely made up their minds.
New Hampshire voters have taken a liking to McCain's maverick image, handing him a victory in the January primary that kept his presidential bid alive.
Democrat John F. Kerry narrowly won the state in 2004, after Republican George W. Bush barely carried the state in 2000.

Obama needs to get dumb northern redneck places like Berlin, NH. Currently, there is a rumor going around that the old and naive are believing that Obama is a terrorist. Unbelievable.
A Berlin Native!
If the voters pay attention to what the Iraqi prime minister is saying this week, they will learn that the McCain-Bush plan for a generation of bases in Iraq has been rejected and that the Iraqi's like the Obama plan to get out by 2010.
Obama's foreign policy ideas are correct and all the bluster in the world about "experience" cannot make McCain look good.
PS Bush/Rove/Cheney attacked Iraq so Bush could polish his resume, and be the 'war president in Iraq, good for his image and getting out the vote. Ask Scot McClellan.
Dumb northern redneck places like Berlin, NH, huh?
I'm a Berlin native and have been all of my life and intend to give Barack Obama my full support during the election. I consider myself to be very well informed about Obama and his background even though I am a "dumb northern redneck".
