Obama's plane makes unexpected stop in St. Louis
Barack Obama is scheduled to deliver a speech on the economy in Charlotte, N.C., today -- but he may be a little bit late.
Obama's plane made an unscheduled stop in St. Louis on its way to Charlotte due to a mechanical problem. The plane had taken off from Chicago.
The Associated Press described the issue as:
"The plane, an MD-80 Midwest charter, experienced a problem maintaining the proper pitch, or control over keeping the nose at the proper angle, as it was taking off from Chicago, the pilot said."
Despite the unexpected delay, Obama seemed to be in good spirits.
"I just thought we'd spice things up a little bit today," the presumptive Democratic nominee joked with reporters during the layover.
UPDATE: Charlotte residents will have to wait for another day to see Obama. Due to the plane's mechanical problems, Obama decided to deliver his economic speech in St. Louis.

Obama = high taxes.....N'Obama for me.
He proclaims to have change, but doesn't have reasonable means to pay for it. You can't tax corporate America and not expect them to pass it along to the consumer, business 101. Drill in the U.S., TAKE WELFARE OUT of the equation and allow our nation to catch up. People not contributing to the system is our problem.
Democrats only line of defense, tax tax tax to fund the economic programs.
and whats your solution, 8 more years of the same look whats that has gotton us.deeper in debt, the republicans answer to everything is look out for yourself. take care of number one and to hell to the rest of america.
This administration is probably the most incompetent group of people to lead this country during my life time, and i was in elementary school during the Eisenhower Administration. Our nation is in debt more than ever. And who owns that debt? The country of China. How is that for national security! Oil prices, which we were told would go down after our "mission accomplished" in Iraq have sky rocketed. Speaking of Iraq, we are in an almost Vietnam like situation. It's interesting that the super-patriots like President Bush, Cheney, and so on, who got out of serving in "Nam" have recreated it in Iraq. Now their policies are helping to recreate the oil shock of the 1970s. I don't entirely blame them.. Almost nothing was done since then to solve the problem, and that is the main reason we are where we are.
