Clinton to campaign for Obama

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor August 5, 2008 12:53 PM

The Hillary watch is almost over.

Barack Obama's campaign announced today that former rival Hillary Clinton will stump on his behalf Friday in Las Vegas and Aug. 21 in South Florida. The events will be combination rallies and voter registration drives, the campaign said.

After the marathon Democratic primaries, Obama and Clinton symbolically joined forces in Unity, N.H., in late June.

She has attended a couple of Obama fund-raisers and sung his praises at a couple of appearances before unions, but she has yet to headline official Obama campaign events. Republican John McCain is aggressively seeking support from disgruntled Clinton loyalists.
