Edwards statement on infidelity
Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards issued this statement today about his extramarital affair with a campaign aide"
"In 2006, I made a serious error in judgment and conducted myself in a way that was disloyal to my family and to my core beliefs. I recognized my mistake and I told my wife that I had a liaison with another woman, and I asked for her forgiveness. Although I was honest in every painful detail with my family, I did not tell the public. When a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, I used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. But being 99% honest is no longer enough.
"I was and am ashamed of my conduct and choices, and I had hoped that it would never become public. With my family, I took responsibility for my actions in 2006 and today I take full responsibility publicly. But that misconduct took place for a short period in 2006. It ended then. I am and have been willing to take any test necessary to establish the fact that I am not the father of any baby, and I am truly hopeful that a test will be done so this fact can be definitively established. I only know that the apparent father has said publicly that he is the father of the baby. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.
"It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up - feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.
"I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say."

Couldn't have happened to a bigger slimeball. The ambulance chaser finally gets his reward. He always was a phony. The Breck Girl, as Rush calls him. Now he can finally go away once and for all, and quit bothering the American public. Bye John. And I hope the door hits you on the way out. Hard!
Dear Mr. Obama,
I hereby nominate John Edwards as your VP choice!
It will be in line with your history of making poor judgments!
It will be consistent with your alignment with the dregs of politics and religion!
It will be a perfect match with your egotistic and narcissist behavior!
Hey, my uncle got away with even worse, so can John E.
Signed,
Caroline K.
Your patronage pick for VP Vetter by my uncle Teddy
I am sad for Mrs Edwards who has enough of a challenge trying to survive cancer. It is so disrespectful of the senator to go astray during this time as opposed to any other time.
The other side of that coin is that while a public figure, he is still a human with human failings. I hope the media has enough respect for Mrs. Edwards and their family to let them handle it rather than gather so many opinions. My heart goes out to you MRs. Edwards and family.
This guy owns a 28,000 (yes 28K) square foot home but calls himself the savior of the poor.
This guy cheats on his wife and lies to American over and over again but calls himself fit for a president's cabinet.
No doubt King Obama will pick him as his VP as yet another example of his outstanding judgment in choosing his political and religious advisors.
Phonies attract other Phonies.
Hey Caroline - if we're talking about a history of making mistakes, then shouldn't McShame nominate Edwards as his running mate? After all, they have both cheated on their spouses (and McShame left his wife after she stayed with him through FIVE years of captivity). Not sure if that counts as a mistake though - pretty sure he did that on purpose since the new Mrs. is LOADED.
Also, there is that whole Keating Five scandal that McShame was involved in - you know, one of the worst corruption scandals in the history of the US Senate? Again though, not sure that qualifies as a mistake because I'm pretty sure McShame knew what he was doing.
The guy is old, bitter and just BRUTAL.
Cindy McCain is HOT !
Michelle Obama is......BITTER and HATES the United States !
Advantage McCain.
