McCain: Obama inexperienced, but 'dreamy'

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor August 11, 2008 04:53 PM

John McCain's campaign is piling on its attacks on Barack Obama's celebrity, this time with a web ad that ridicules his rock star appeal.

The video -- called "Fan Club," with the look and sound of an invitation to join a bubblegum group's club -- starts with a sarcastic reference to Obama's overseas tour. "You've seen him in London, Paris, and Berlin," the announcer says. "Now you too can join 'The One's' fan club right here in America."

The video follows with a series of Obama fans gushing about him; one says he almost cried, another compares him to U2 frontman Bono.

But the announcer also says that perks of the fan club include tax increases. "We know he doesn't have much experience and isn't ready to lead, but that doesn't mean he isn't dreamy."

  1. I'm still wondering if McCain will ever tell us why he wants to be President.
