Barack Obama is appearing this morning with one of the most-talked about possible running mates, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, but there's still no decision.

In Chester, Va., Kaine was the warm-up act for a discussion on the economy. So far, Obama is giving a standard stump speech about what he has learned while campaigning across the country. "You rediscover how wonderful the American people are," he said.

But, he said, now people are worried about the economy. "These are anxious times," he said.

Obama also portrayed Republican rival John McCain as out-of-touch with the plight of working families. He pointed to an answer McCain gave during a forum on faith over the weekend about who he considers rich. McCain, seemingly joking, replied $5 million a year.

"So I guess if you're only making $3 million a year, you're middle class," Obama said.

Kaine appeared earlier on CNN and Fox News Channel and praised Obama and his chances to win Virginia, but refused to dip into the V.P. speculation. "I’m not going to make a case for myself because I’m not running for anything," Kaine said on CNN.

Obama is expected to appear with his running mate at an event in Springfield, Ill., on Saturday, but it is unclear when his supporters will get the long-awaited text message announcing his choice.
