Paging Dr. Strangelove

DENVER -- Are Democrats ready to turn John McCain's temper -- a subject of rumor and speculation for years -- into a national-security issue?

"Evenness of temperament" distinguishes Barack Obama from McCain, former Navy Secretary Richard Danzig, a leading adviser to Obama's campaign, told a lunch discussion sponsored by the Truman National Security Project, a group established to focus Democrats' attention on strategic military concerns.

"I have never seen Barack Obama lose his temper. I have never seen him lose his balance," said Danzig, whose comments were later seconded by former Defense Secretary William Perry. "I think John McCain is well-known for losing it in a variety of circumstances."

  1. Mccain is trigger happy. He made a good prisoner of war. But did he make a real good soldier? What did he do besides being a pow that;s so great? I'm not sure that the characteristics that made Mccain a good prisoner of war necessarily translate into him being a good commander-in-chief. When it comes to making decisions about sending people to their deaths I prefer a cadidate that keeps a level head and is not so ruled by his emotions. I think Obama would look at everything, the big picture, before making a decision in the best interest of this country. Mccain I worry would not be able to adapt to this new world and he would resort to what he is comfortable with. When something happen in russia he see cold war again, when he see iraq he see vietnam agian. And its hard to imagine him president without there being some war. Mccain as a non-war time President?

  1. Yes, let's go ahead and elect a president who has NOT served in the military so we have someone who has NO clue about their capabilities, strategies, culture and needs.

Yes, let's go ahead and elect a president who has voted AGAINST the funding for the military so that they are set up for failure in a war which was approved by Congress. And someone puts their lives at risk by not giving them the logistical support they need.

Makes a whole lot of sense to me!!

This Democrat veteran is voting for McCain.
