Will McCain's attack strategy be used against him?
By Michael Kranish, Globe Staff
DENVER -- Senator John McCain's campaign has had fun for the last two days taunting Barack Obama with advertisements that show Democrats criticizing Obama. On Saturday, within hours of Obama's announcement that Senator Joseph Biden would be his running mate, the McCain campaign aired a commercial that showed Biden questioning Obama's experience.
Yesterday, McCain's campaign released an ad saying that Obama had passed over Hillary Clinton as a running mate because she had criticized him during the primaries. "She won millions of vote," a narrator says in the ad. "But isn't on the ticket. Why? For speaking the truth."
Thus, the McCain campaign has raised the question: would McCain want to pick a vice presidential candidate who was perhaps his toughest critic in the primaries, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney?
Romney ran tough ads against McCain that questioned whether the Arizona is "the right Republican" to be in the White House and noted that he voted against President Bush's tax cuts. McCain responded with ads touting newspaper editorials that supported his candidacy. When asked about the Romney ad, McCain joked, "Never get into a wrestling match with a pig. You both get dirty - and the pig likes it."
If McCain picks Romney, the Democrats doubtless would remind voters of the McCain-Romney feud - perhaps with ads modeled on the playbook McCain has been using against Obama this weekend.
Romney appears to be the only former primary foe being considered by McCain as a vice presidential pick. Other top contenders include former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge, Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut and Governor Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota.

The McCain s have gone so negative it will hurt them. And that Rich guy
from Dallas will hurt McCain more than help. Enough of those swift boat tactics already.
Very unlikely he would pick Romney. Even with every word read as written by his staff, McCain's real feelings for Romney would be apparent.
I guess Tom Ridge.
John’s Wealth explains his Reasoning:
Cindy and John McCain have a total of not 7 or 8 but at least 13 luxury residences from Virginia through Arizona to California worth over $ 15M. Some of the residences are for personal use and others for investment purposes.
3 - Luxury residences on Hidden Valley Ranch Road, Yavapai County, AZ
3- Luxury condos at Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016
1- Three-bedroom luxury high-rise condo in Arlington, Va.
3- Luxury residences in La Jolla, Calif., overlooking Pacific Ocean.
1- A spaceship design style luxury residential residence in Phoenix, Arizona
2- Beachfront complexes in Coronado, Calif.
A celebrity-like lifestyle for a former POW and currently on a Government disability pension! According to John “Rich should be defined by possession of a home, a good job…“ Based on that definition, John is filthy rich. In 2000, he criticized tax cuts proposed by presidential candidate George W. Bush that they would benefit the rich “at the expense of middle-class Americans.”
But he now believes that there is no distinction between the rich and the middle class. When it comes to taxes they are all need to be treated the same. Who and how are going to pay the Chinese, the Japanese and Indians that we have heavily borrowed from? Who and how are the deteriorating roadways, bridges, schools, airports in the country going to be fixed? With the shrinking industrial base, deficit balance of trade and deficit Federal budget how is the country going to recover? I was fooled in 2000, 2004 and can’t fool me in 2008. Shame on You! Where is Ross Perot? He should give one or two lessons to John on fiscal responsibility. Copying the policies of the current administration is a sign of not being too smart.
Sorry, but I don't want a President who will be 79 when he takes the oath. By the time he leaves office, he's almost be 90! Give me a break.
If he wants to win he needs to pick Romney.
McCain * Romney '08!
McCain won't have to worry. Obama will either be disqualified because he is not eligible, or prosecuted for election fraud and violating voter's rights.
Threats and force do not bring Unity. Hopefully, they bring Prosecutions.
WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED
Thanks to several alert readers here at No Quarter, I have learned about a new documentary on Caucus Fraud that is just coming out. WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED, by Gigi Gaston, came into being according to their website because:
As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. WE THE PEOPLE expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected.
However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe that the The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee.
That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners,” etc.
There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.
The preview, all 33 minutes of it, is compelling. In essence, it is a visual companion to the work of Dr. Lynette Long at Caucus Fraud and Peniel Cronin on Primaries and Caucuses (which will appear at NQ shortly). In short, it is disturbing not just how this happened, but THAT it happened in our country.
I invite you to watch the preview to this documentary, about which the authors said this:
This documentary is about the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America.
We want to be heard and let the country know how our party has sanctioned the actions of what we feel are Obama campaign Chicago Machine dirty politics.
We believe this campaign of Change from Chicago encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is, of course, all documented in WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.
This documentary contains powerful, important information. I urge you to spread the word however you are able. Now is the time.

My deepest thanks to all of those at WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED for your commitment to democracy, to the rights of Americans, all Americans, to vote. Thank you for your courage and integrity in getting this critical information out. And thank you for bringing the voices of these Americans out for us all to witness.

Why doesn't McCain pick Hilary if he likes her so much.
The Republicans are just mad because they had the Clinton Attack machine all bought and paid for and now they have to scrap it.
If you really want to vote for the best person in, you'll have to do a write in. Unfortunately, either Democrat or Republican, if you vote for who is printed on the ballot, you'll just be selecting the one who will do the least damage.
It was Romney that helps Mccain to win the Republican nomination. How can that be? Mitt Romney did not let the debates looks like viewing a boring movie instead the audiences you can tell their eyes wide open, the cheering and clapping everytime he finished speaking. It brings out the truth not only about Romney himself but also about other candidates. In other words Romney force the negatives out of other candidates and turn them into positive from the audiences and voters point of view.He never allow the anti mormon and anti religion to stop him from telling his opponent about their differences on issues exactly what it is.He speaks his mind instead of letting others walking over him and thats the kind of leader I adore and hope to be Mccains VP.All this buzz about Biden as being some super VP better not mess with Mitt Romney if it ever come down to Romney end up as VP to Mccain.Go Mccain/Romney 2008 don't give them any chance.
