You would think that one side would allow the other to celebrate the first joint concert ever by rock legends Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel.

This bitter election, you would be wrong.

Democrat Barack Obama's campaign confirmed today that he plans to attend a fund-raising concert -- tickets start at $500 and range up to $10,000 -- at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Oct. 16, the day after Obama's final debate with Republican John McCain at nearby Hofstra University.

Tonight, the Republican National Committee sent along this Bronx cheer:

"John McCain felt that it was more important to bring Republicans and Democrats together for the sake of our economy rather than rock stars together for the sake of his campaign.”
