Palin: No offense intended to organizers
Sarah Palin apologizes, sort of, to Barack Obama and community organizers who felt slighted by her gibes during her speech during the Republican National Convention.
Palin, the former mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, said in her speech that being mayor was sort of like being a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."
“I certainly didn’t mean to hurt his feelings. Didn’t mean to offend any community organizers either," the Republican vice presidential nominee says in the second part of an interview, airing at 9 p.m. EDT today on Fox New Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."
Community organizers in Boston and across the country have expressed anger at Palin's remarks, saying she had disrespected a profession that is entwined with America's tradition of reform.
"I do have respect for those who have chosen public service. What I was doing certainly, should be obvious, was direct a comment to him as he had taken a shot at small mayors across the nation," added Palin, the first term governor of Alaska. "Small mayors, mayors of small towns, quote unquote. They’re on the front lines, they’re held accountable every single day that they’re in office, with real responsibilities that do demand that accountability and invite accountability.”
UPDATE: In highlights of the interview released this afternoon by Fox News, Palin also defends herself against "Troopergate" -- the legislative investigation of her firing of the state's public safety commissioner, and whether she dismissed him because he refused to fire a state trooper involved in a contentious divorce with her sister-in-law before she became governor.
"This trooper tasered my nephew," she said. "....It's all there. His threats against the first family, the threat against my dad. All that is in the record. And if the opposition researchers chooses to forget that side of the story, they're not doing their job."
Palin also praises Hillary Clinton, saying she showed "a lot of determination and stick-to-itiveness in her campaigns and I have to respect that."
"I don't have to agree with all that she tried to push through and parts of her agenda," Palin added. "In fact, I don't agree with all of it."
Palin jokes about her opposite number on the Democratic side, Joe Biden, and their debate on Oct. 2. "I think he was first elected when I was like in second grade. He's been in there a long, long, long time. So he's got the experience. He probably has the sound bytes. He has the rhetoric. He knows what's expected of him. He is a great debater, also. So yes, it's going to be quite a task in front of me."
She's deadly serious about her eldest son Track, an Army soldier who is being deployed to Iraq. "Well, as a mom, you know, he's heading to Iraq, taking a fifth of my heart with him, you know," she said. "And I'm just so extremely proud of him. He's independent and he's strong and he's serving for the right reasons. I'm just as proud of every man and woman in uniform serving our country and trying to usher in democratic values to the rest of the world, protecting our freedoms."
And, she is given another chance to explain the "Bush Doctrine," which she flubbed in her first national interview last week:
"I see our role in the world as one of being a force for good and one of being the leader of the world when it comes to the values that -- it seems that just humankind embraces the values that encompass life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And that's not just in America, that is in our world."
UPDATE: Palin is still a big draw on television.
Fox News Channel said tonight that the first part of her interview that aired Wednesday produced the second-highest ratings this year for "Hannity & Colmes," behind only its coverage of Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention.
Citing Nielsen Media Research estimates, Fox said its show drew 4.9 million viewers, far ahead of the 1.7 million for Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC and 1.65 million for Larry King's on CNN during the same time slot.

Wasn't Jesus a community organizer? Wasn't Pontus Pilot a Governor?
As I recall, Jesus Christ was a community organizer.
I wonder if and when Sarah will be unleashed to the throngs of reporters just waiting to do their job - rather than interviews like this on the 'Fox' network? Repubs, quit protecting and isolating her - she is going to have to face the wolves sooner or later.
Just when you think that the Replicans can produce anyone more stupid than W, they surprise us with Palin.
No wonder they're shielding her from the public; God forbid she opens her mouth and puts both her feet in it.
If she wins, I'm leaving to Canada for good.
way to clarify your remarks, however everyone knows you meant it with harm and not as a rebuttal. In fact at the time of your speech the Obama campaign gave you the benefit of the doubt and did not attack you on being a mayor of a small town. The point is that you were offensive and should retract the entire statement.
It's crystal clear that Biden is a liability to the Democratic ticket, and Hillary would bring scorned radical feminists back into the Democratic fold. (I'd wager that Hillary & Co. would not vote for an Obama/Biden ticket, allowing McCain to win so Hillary can run on her own in 2012.)
The question would then be, if Hillary becomes the Democratic VP nominee, and Obama/Clinton win, does Obama suspect her plan to run against him in the 2012 Democratic primary?
Let me share some info with you that I have gotten from excellent sources within the DNC:
On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.
I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the "health problem" cited in those articles was an aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings. In any case, this is a total manipulation of the American public and shows a complete disdain for our intelligence.
To little to late.
If you made a mistake 2 weeks ago then the apology should have come back then. But in true politician form she apologizes when she thinks it will help her cause.
How about going back to Alaska and apologize to the citizens for being a dope and tell the truth about troopergate instead of pulling in lawyers to try to quiet the issue.
What a reformer!! She is just like the old boys that McCain runs with....
Immediately after the announcement of McCain's VP choice, Obama put out a statement that read "John McCain just put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 a heartbeat away from the Presidency." So it was, and is, entirely fair game for Palin to highlight that her opponents want to put a man whose experience is even less relevant zero heartbeats away.
If you think Palin is too inexperienced, vote for Bob Barr. What has Obama actually accomplished? Managing his own sizable campaign? Oh I see, so he should be president because he's good at running for president. Interviews well? Exactly.
What's sad about all of the Obama supporters in Massachusetts is that we're one of the few states that should actually know better. "History-making" candidate short on experience, but long on speech-giving and "Yes we can!" positive campaign slogans.... We've seen this movie before: it's called Deval Patrick, and it's, umm, not a different kind of politics here.

Scorpio, I'll rent the U-Haul for your move. You moving to Canada means one less moron here.
Her goal was to point out the inaccuracy of the comments Obama's campaign was making, which was that she did not have enough experience to be VP. Further, she was indicating that Obama actually has far less experience than she does.
How is Obama going to change Washington, when he has not put forth any real legislation of consequence nor shown an ability to cross the aisle? When he has never had responsibility for a budget? No one's without skeletons in their closet, least of all politicians, but how can the Dailey/Chicago political machine's chief guy, Axelrod, being in control of the campaign, not concern anyone? How brilliant can the guy be if he doesn't pick Hillary, and thus sew up the entire Democratic party vote? I just don't get how this guy is so smart that it overcomes his lack of experience. Where's the evidence? Where are his qualifications? Just so no one thinks this is a racial question, John Lewis of Georgia is a much more qualified politician than this guy, and actually, like McCain, suffered for his country, while in the Civil Rights movement.
Of course, the comments about Jesus and Pilate are weak at best, very hilarious. It's really comical to hear all the different Democratic surrogates using the same phrase. Very original.
Speaking of stupid comments, how about Joe Biden telling a guy in a wheelchair to "stand up so everyone can see you." Now THAT is stupid.
Not surprised all of you supposed open-minded liberals have no comment on that. Have you no sympathy for the handicapped?
I can't take another minute of the McCain/Palin campaign's arrogant, smug, and unapologetic attitude toward the people of this country. At this point, after weeks of bold-faced lying and serious flip-flopping on almost every important issue, this insult is only one among many. For Palin to offer a half-apology, weeks later, while continuing to lie about basic facts, frankly just makes me want to give her the finger.
The left-wing media & Obama's hollywood hacks had been questioning her experience when the Dems' lead man has little himself. This seems to have touched a nerve with this group. Go Sarah!
And let's not forget she said it right after Rudy made even more derisive comments about community organizers. A group that was vital to him when he was mayor of NYC. They both got a real rise out of the Republican base at the convention who smelled red meat. No, she can't apologize her way out of this or try to deflect back to comments about small town mayors. We got to she how she thinks and how she acts and it is indeed not a pretty sight. Indeed, I hope she never gets a chance to be near the leadership of this country as her party has done enough damage already. It is indeed time for a change.
She didn't have any responsibilities. She hired a town manager to run the town. She is useless.
You are all a bunch of whining liberal "Brown Shirts" Christ was a community organizaer what a crack of liberal BS,,,
It was and is open season on Palin's resume, but if she points out that Obama isn't exactly a heavy weight (despite now being favorably compared to Christ here) it is so unfair. She was being unmercifully attacked before she ever came to the convention.
Her point was valid. But I don't think you would judge either one of them as presenting a remarkable or acceptable resume for the job. They both appear to be very intelligent and good speakers. I suspect that Obama may be more intelligent but I can't swear to it. After a year of campaigning I would expect that Obama is certaininly more prepared to face the press and to a large degree the press is blatantly hostile to Palen. If I were running her campaign I would keep her from the press and prepare her as long as possible. You would, too.
Follow the logic of Democrats-
A. Trooper tasered step-son-
B. Palin asks for his resignation-
C. Democrats incriminate Palin by suggesting abuse of power-
A. Hacker breaks into VP canidates e-mail
B. Democrats incriminate VP Palin by suggesting she used government properties for personal use.
Connection: Democrats defend violent/criminal/Immoral behavior -
this is the censored Sarah Palin at work here. they're trying hard now to keep the masses from knowing how crazy far to the right she is (pro-life even for rape and incest? insanity)
Citizens actively involved in governance at the community level, often as volunteers, is the very heart and soul of a democratic country. That too many of us, myself included, want others to actually do something good for the community they live in... is a kind of pandemic... and undercuts this nation.
Let's all get more involved for the sake of a good cause.
Poor Mrs. Palin. I hope she has an earpiece when she's in the debate with Biden. She's attempting to emphasize his length in Washington in order to make it seem as if he's part of the same old problem (a la McCain, the Deregulator). Instead, this means that Biden has worked on and understands quite intimately public policy at the national federal level, not to mention his international experience.
Sarah C -- I think you are confused. It is Obama who sneeers at middle America, or did you miss the "bitter, gun-clinging" quote...or Michelle Obama whining to working women in Zanesville, OH about how difficult it is to come up with money for ballet, piano, summer camp and all those Ivy League school bills...and especially, to avoid the "corporate track". Talk about arrogance and out of touch.
The "community organizers" Gov Palin referred to are the cheap ward-heeling thugs and professional agitators who were schooled by Alinsky, and not the everyday person who is involved in their community. We all know exactly what she meant, and agreed with her. It is time to turn our backs on the type of filthy Chicago style politics that Obama would bring to the WH. Just do some basic research into how Obama managed to win in Illinois.
Obama is right: Enough is enough.
No Bama/Biden, it's time to clean up both parties and reject this type of garbage.
When is Palin going to be allowed to make unscripted remarks to the press? I read that although the press corps is flying on the same plane as McCain and Palin, they aren't allowed to get even close to her. Is someone afraid she might answer a question with a complete lack of intelligence or insight? Just wondering...
Panic! ATTACK! Panic! ATTACK! Oh you poor Libs. Let's do a big group hug.
Yes, experience, Obama has more experience than Palin, but less than McCain. As a Part Time Mayor of a small town in Alaska she left the town in financial debt and legal trouble. Obama was a community organisor, I call thier experience even. Now Palin is the Govenor of Alaska for two years and Obama was a state senator for 8 years. Now Obama has 2 year in the U.S. Senate and Palin has no federal record at all. So yea, Obama has more practical experience than Palin.
THIS Campain is not about Palin Vs Obama, nor is it about the top of the ticket.
Lets face it folks this is about the teams of Obama/Binden vrs McCain/Palin. You ask me both are equally experienced.
"Thanks but no thanks" to this solely political VP selection, whose lack of experience proved a short-lived boon -- a blank slate upon which to fabricate an exotic right-wing image.
If you believe this woman is a "reformer", then I've got a bridge to sell you in Alaska.
Vote for Change!
It’s easy to blame the collapse of the two largest mortgage lending giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, on the consumer for chasing the American Dream and taking on more house than they could afford.
The Treasury Department has demanded the current CEO’s step down. Certainly those at the wheel have to bear some responsibility. But the pillaging was already in their rear view mirrors. Three of the main characters in this fiasco have strong ties to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
As Fannie Mae’s CEO (1999 to 2003), Franklin Raines pulled in over $90 Million, mostly in bonuses. He was sued by the SEC and OFHEO to recover $50 Million in bonuses due to Enron-like accounting practices overstating their earnings by $10.6 Billion. Franklin took “early retirement”, paid a hefty fine and forfeited stock options valued at $15.6 Million. He is now Obama’s economic advisor for housing policy.
Jamie Gorelick was vice-chairperson at Fannie. In 1998, she received a bonus of $779,625 amidst a scandal where signatures were falsified on accounting transactions to meet earning targets. She is a leading candidate for Attorney General if Obama is elected president.
Jim Johnson was Raines’ predecessor at Fannie. He resigned from Obama’s VP selection committee after revelations he accepted a sweetheart loan from Countrywide Financial while Fannie’s CEO.
As taxpayers, we are now liable for failures in a $5.2 Trillion loan portfolio to include $780 Billion in high-risk “Alt-A” and sub-prime loans. These are Friends of Barack we can ill afford!
If you believe that the most important job of a president or vice president is to get on the nerves of liberals and moderates, no doubt you have your candidate.
But the job is more complex than that.
Ugh--enough already on the experience argument from both sides! Regardless of which side wins, we'll have one person in the White House who hasn't been in politics very long and another who has been in politics close to 30 years. Both tickets are running one experienced and one "inexperienced" candidate on the same ticket. We get it. Enough already!
"it's like, yah, ya know....."
Great use of language for the potential VP.
1. A man with less than 100 days in DC as a senator is asking to be President.
2. Put lipstick on a community organizer...
3. Are you comparing Obama to Jesus? Thats Obama's goal.
4. Obama is the same-old same-old liberal, voting 97% with his party.
Republican Senator Hagel put it best: ""She doesn't have any foreign policy credentials," Hagel said in an interview published Thursday by the Omaha World-Herald. "You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don't know what you can say. You can't say anything."
And about seeing Russia? "I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, 'I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia,'" he said. "That kind of thing is insulting to the American people."
Yup, that's what I say. Republican - stop insulting me with this Palin droid!
". . . she had disrespected a profession . . ."
Now, that is scary; "professional" community organizers. A pretty lame way to make a living. But I guess if you're a natural "schmoozer," it would certainly be an easy living, well worth taking purposeful offense to maintain some sense of self-respect.
In reality, though an Organizer may have responibilities, they are not in the same, "buck stops here," catagory as reponsibilities associated with mayorship or governorship (or President).
Palin owes no apology.
DNC Insider (#6)-
As Rudy Giuliani said at the RNC: “Well, I'll tell you, if I were Joe Biden, I'd want to get that VEEP thing writing!!”
(how prophetic!)
Her son is "serving for the right reasons" -- I respect his service to his country, but lets not forget that his choice was jail/reform school or join the service. He still deserves our respect for his service, but let's not forget what got him to join the service in the first place.
Karen S -- get a grip!
BTW, we DO know what Palin meant when she talked about community organizers--she meant that they are -gasp- black and thus dangerous.
As for Obama sneering at middle America, he did no such thing. He expressed sympathy for the poor dumb rednecks who keep electing Republicans then wonder why their jobs get shipped overseas.
Palin has a bachelors from the University of Idaho, Was major of a town of 9000(Does the President of my high school class of 5000 students qualify to be VP) and has been a governor as long as Obama has been running is campaign. She would have a hard time getting a real good job in MA with her expierence and education, never mind be Vice President. Yeah Obama worked as a community organizer then went to Harvard Law and graduated at the top of his class, followed by being involved in state senate since 93, thats 15 years people. The argument that he hasnt run a budget means all Mcains experience as Senator is useless also, Lets be real here, The Dem ticket is much more qualified to run the White House. She is a joke with the Republicans trying to act like they care about the middle class by nominating her and then will send you three hundreds bucks while special interests makes millions upon millions. Making fun of community organizers was dispectable, complete lack of integrity. If Obama and Palin walked into your company right now for a job Obama would get the job 10 out of 10 times because he has more expierence and a much better education than Palin. Thats just a fact. You can twist it however you want but if they were typed up in Resumes its no contest, anyone that argues that is a fool.
To joshyR,
She won't ever have to face the wolves josh. She's having them all slaughtered in Alaska.
Anyone who supports a woman who thinks dinosaurs were created 4,000 years ago are just as cuckoo as she is. Are you people for real?
Charlie Gibson did not know what he was talking about. What is the Bush doctrine? Is it as well defined as the Monroe Doctrine? No. Is it as well defined as the Truman Doctrine? No. Palin asked Gibson what he meant. Saying "in what regard, Charlie"? Which is the proper response to a question to which there would be miriad of answers. Those on the left can lie to themselves about what she said and what she meant, but those who paid attention, read the unedited version of the interview know it was a hatchet job by a news organization which has lost or gave away all credibility to those who are even the smallest amount intellectually honest. If you do not care Obama is a lying Marxist who associates with domestic terrorists, vote for him. The rest of America will not. I predict there will be violent revolution if Obama is somehow elected President and tries to impose his views on America.
When someone "picks themselves up by their bootstraps", works hard to get an education and becomes wealthy and successful (so they can afford to send their kids to ballet class, play the piano and go Ivy league Schools) do they become an arrogant elitist? Is there a cap on how far you can pick yourself up and reach for the American dream? Or...is this elitist label just revealing the insecurities of those who haven't been quite so successful in life? Do they put down the achievements of others to justify their mediocrity?
Jesus was a "community organizer." Obama was a "community organizer." That makes Obama the democrats' Messiah . Hey . . . wait a minute . . . only republicans are suppose to talk about Jesus.
Remember Dan Quayle? Quayle had no experience and no understanding of the issues back in the late 80's. Much like Palin doesn't have a clue about the issues we face in 2008 and going forward. So I guess taht Sarah Palin is Quayle in drag.
To: Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor ,
Your comment " she is given another chance to explain the "Bush Doctrine," which she "flubbed" in her first national interview last week", was totally off base. Its been widely reported, even by the liberal media that Gibson's obtuse question was either; a falsely wworded gotcha question or that he truely didn't know what he was talking about. There have been at least four Bush Doctrines since the first one in 2002 concerning the preemptive strike position. Asking for clarification was the responsible thing to do, it wasn't a flub.
The rest of the BS comments are mainly partisan rehashing and none or it is pertinent. I don't want to here about Bush, (he's not running), McSame is for amatuers and inferring Obama is a Muslim just doesn't help the debate. For me its experience, leadership, inegrity and country first, yes I'm for McCain.
Did Ms. Palin's son vote by absentee ballot prior to going overseas? If not, why not?
Zelsdorf Ragshaft III ... "intellectually honest. If you do not care Obama is a lying Marxist who associates with domestic terrorists," Wow... that's a leap even for a Republican. Hope you brought your hang-glider.
1) Jesus wasn't a community organizer: he was a teacher. Pontius Pilate voted "present" when given the opportunity to free him. If you don't know your religion, then quit embarrassing yourself by talking about. BTW, do you really think that comparing Obama to Jesus is going to do anything other than offend voters?
2) Repeating the lie that Track Palin had to enlist in order to avoid some other kind of punishment doesn't make it true. It's just another cheap smear against a candidate's family. Should we speculate about Obama abusing his daughters? Hmm? That's the level you want to play on?
3) Re: "flubbing the Bush doctrine" question has been debunked by pretty much everyone who has even looked at the question. That the author tries to flog this tired crap is more a sign of the author's bias and lack of honesty than anything else.
4) When Obama faces anything other than a puffball interview where he isn't provided the questions in advance, then I'll take calls for Palin to do a "tough" interview seriously. Just more dKos noise that they know is complete BS.

That isn't what happened. The trooper who allegedly tasered was the ex-husband of a Palin relative involved in a bitter divorce. She allegedly pressured the Director of Public Safety/Police Chief to fire said trooper as a personal vendetta. He refused. So she she allegedly fired him instead for being insubordinate, or disloyal. Abuse of power allegations ensued and an investigation was called for. She now refuses to participate. If she did nothing wrong and the chief was at fault, why hide?
Palin didn't know what the Bush Doctrine is. It's not that Gibson failed to narrow it down to a specific iteration or definition; she just didn't know what he was talking about. Period. When she said "his world view(?)" it became all too clear that that was as specific as she could get on the doctrine. She was making a guess, and hoping that her vague guess would encompass the correct answer. It almost worked. And for you idiots out there, the question was "too hard" or too vague for someone who's running to be one melanoma away from the presidency. Yes, indeed, let's nominate a "regular gal" to be leader of the free world. That sounds like a great idea...
Hey Jim,
1) By todays standards Jesus is also a community organizer.
2) True, keep the families out of it, tell your right wing moon bats to do the same. I have hear far to many of the right wing hate radio bash Ms. Obama for no reason. I am not talking of her getting up and speaking, I mean no reason at all, just cause she wore something they did not like, sucker please. If the right wing bashed the left wing will bash back, get used to it. If you talk to the press, and it is not a puff piece, but your political views you become a fair target
3) No, only nut bag right wingers do not think Palin flubbing the Bush doctrine. She did the know the question or the bush doctorine and danced around the question. If she know the question or wanted more clarification on which version/part Charlie asked for she would have said so. Palin is smarter than that, you give her to little credit.
4) Go watch Obama on the O'Reily Factor on Fox News. Ok get the lights and all the press ready cause Jim lost and Palin goes in for the hard core news press conference.
Seems everyone here is concerned with all the hyperbole of a normal campaign. What bothers me is the fact that Joe Biden has stated in an ad that for people who have learned, worked hard and acheived success in their lives that have brought them $'s that are deserved, should consider it their PATRIOTIC DUTY to PAY MORE TAXES to be distributed to those less fortunate. A TRUE ROBBIN HOOD!
And of course the Government knows who those that are deserving are, Right??
Does this in any way resemble a way of life that as one we left 200+ years ago?
Or maybe we need to re-incarnate Stalin and institute an all new Politburo. Surely the Democrates could show is the way to true enlightenment.
NOT!!
How dare they use that comment, I am a Patriot. I've served my country, faced our enemies and fortunately survived to continue to serve in my community where I'm able. PATRIOTIC DUTY! Mr Biden you better check your compass, think you'll find it where your sun hasn't shinned for awhile, but on the shoulders and hearts of PATRIOTS.
I wonder if hannity asked her about shooting wolves from an airlane (or helicopter)? These aren't wolves that are endangering anybody's livestock and she certainly isn't eating them - it is purely for sport. A sport that Sarah Palin and her husband love to partake in. I place aerial wolf-hunters right up there with people who stage dog fights!
Wake up Rhee!
Charlie Gibson was the one who "flubbed" the Bush Doctrine, not Sara Palin.
Bet you don't know what it is, either.
toots,
It's well known that Palin fired Monegan for being insubordinate with his budget. the investigation is pretty much over and Palin has been exonerated.
But even if you were right in your lies that Palin tried to fire a man that we know wants to kill people and abuse his badge, I don't care. The American people don't care. We love it. That's what's so great about democracy!
Just facts,
Obama and Biden are more experienced...at what? Blowing smoke? (no direct alliteration to Obama's previous habits). Bored-way Joe said it himself, this is not a position for on the job training. 15 years in the senate, IL or US and that qualifies him when he did nothing in either? Editor of the Harvard Law Review? Big whoop. Friend of Bill Ayers, that helps - not. Attends his church for 20 years where the pastor is a known-racist, yet it has no influence on him or he didn't hear the sermons.
As so the so-called chosen one said himself, this is about the judgement of the invididual, here's a litany of his decisions that show NO judgement:
* ongoing, long-term relationship with Ayers who's an unrepentant terrorist
* Axelrod, Dailey's long-time bullhorn, directs his campain
* buys house that convicted dude helped him get
* in his church 20 years with lunatic
* votes present 131 times in IL Senate
* votes against act to provide medical care to babies who are alive outside of the womb
* talks about Americans clinging to guns and religion
* doesn't pick Hillary to be his VP - I'm a Republican, and for a # of reasons, respect her for putting up with Bill, plus her grit and fight in the primary when she was down
* won't release medical records
* connected to radical ACORN group
The list goes on...by his own comment that judgement matters, he clearly has very poor judgement by any objective standard.
What can he point to as his accomplishments? This man is not ready, and really, I believe the powers that be in the Democratic party used him, #1 to make sure the Clinton era would end, #2, because he is a good speaker.
I wouldn't hire this guy with his resume to do anything. No experience, no qualifications, no record of accomplishment, no record of responsibility. Try getting a real job based on merit, and he doesn't come close to qualifying.
I just think it's hilarious that liberals know more about the Bible and Christian history than the Bible-toting, backwoods Republicans. The people who misinterpret the Bible as an excuse to tell others how to live their lives while completely disregarding their own advice.
Evangelists disgust me.

LC in NH is my hero. so dead on.
You Americans make Sarah Palin sound more like Judas than Pilate.
Palin and Obama don't seem that much different to me. Per Wikipedia they're both in their mid-40s and they've both held public office for little over 10 years. So why the big fuss?
Shouldn't you be discussing the collapsing banking system and the next terrorist attack?
Cheers
Ms. Palin's comment did not seem to state anything untrue about community organizers. While very helpful and commendable, do these often self-appointend, otherwise taskless individuals have any actual responsibilities? What was hurtful about what she said? Community organizers are just that. They are not running large scale operations throughout a city, and certainly not by themselves. Also, a mayor is held responsible for his or her choices. When a 'community organizer' makes a mistake, he or she can easily leave the post they unofficially held without fear of reprisal.
