Those circling wolves

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor September 10, 2008 07:40 PM

The Democratic National Committee is going after John McCain on an animal -- and it's not a pig, with lipstick or otherwise.

Instead, a web video released late today compares a McCain ad defending running mate Sarah Palin and depicting her critics as voracious wolves with a national security ad President Bush used against Democrat John F. Kerry in 2004 that showed a circling pack of wolves as threats facing the United States.

The video shows the two ads in split screen, then brings them together at the end when McCain and Bush both say they "approve" their message.

It is the latest attempt by Democrats to tie McCain to the unpopular president.

"Same old tactics. Same old policies. Four more years?" the video says on screen at the end.

The demoCRATS are goiong down again... each election they tie their hopes to an emtier suit. Thsi time they have selected a MARXIST mt suit. Hilarious

I know about lipstick about all these ads. Useless waste of Dollars. Well I still know what these two candidates stand for. How can they save economy, save social security, prevent health crisis, how they will create jobs, how they can save US and make the american dream come true. Media does not care either becuase through these provocative messages they are getting bucks.

I guess perhaps we as a nation dont care

We let the GOP get away with garbage like this in 2000 and 2004. What do you think of the results?

The democrats had better learn that the Bush connection is not sticking. You need something more.

For once, I almost feel bad for the mess Obama got himself into. Look Obama, just remember this; light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright ... until you hear them speak. Fast talk and slow wit will catch up to you every time.

I resent how magnificent wolves are used this way -- by EITHER party!

These smart and sophisticated animals are wrongly persecuted and it's time to stop supporting the myths!

Wolves are just like any other wild animal trying to survive. Protect them or leave them alone.

Right on! Hit em hard! These lying, cheating, two-faced hypocrites have gotten away with this below-the-belt BS for too long. It's time to use THEIR strengths against THEM, just as Karl " the criminal Rove has done to numerous opponents including John Kerry.
Republicans always call their opponents exactly what they hate the most: themselves and they have proven it so many times, it's scary. They hate Gays? Turns out the loudest in the pack were gay. They call Liberals elite? These guys ARE the inner circle of American wealth and power (doesn't get any more elite than that! Weak on defense? Uhm, 8 years of Bush has made us weak. Draft Dodgers? Most Republicans haven't served. It goes on and on and on.
I agree with Obama, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

How ironic. Sarah Palin massacres wolves for fun. What is she trying to say?

Evil witch, evil witch. I say she deserves the same treatment she's given the wolves in AK.

Isn't this amazing for almost two years Obama seems to be the darling of the media and now we're talking Sarah Palin. The saying "it's not the beginning but the end" speaks the truth on this election. If there is one important factor that steal the limelight and possibly the election from the Democrat Party is definitely the WOMEN FACTOR.It wasn't about Hilliary Clinton alone that's just an assumption but the EMOTION AND THE PROUD feeling women felt and are continue to feel that way hoping that a woman will eventually be chosen as a leader for a change is something very special and shows that they are respected and treat fairly.

I quess in my mind there are so so many issues, but the highest on my list is national security.......so i will base my decision on who i feel has the most experience, and the ability to handle such affairs. If o'Bama is chosen, i'm sure after his first term as he re-runs for office.....people will see and here a different O"Bama; one that may be sounds like our more "seasoned" politicians!
I have deep concerns on many issues for our country, but if we for one second lose control of our freedom and security......we're DONE !!!

Ok Sarah, you say you are concerned about National Security, how is it that so many in this country have been fooled into believing THOSE IN POWER WHEN 9/11 OCCURRED are the only ones capable of protecting us??? How does that make sense on ANY level!?!

And to Barb, wolves do get a bad name - but don't you see the irony. McCain is using wolves in his add and making his team prime targets to be attacked for the cruel practice of Ariel Hunting! I was hoping that was what this ad was going to hit at! I'm sick of the comparisons to Bush - they should have made it about ariel shooting, pulled at our heart strings. No matter what side you're on finding out someone is cruel and inhumane to animals is going to upset you!

Yes, Jennifer, you're right about that!

McCain and his right wing cronies are out of touch illiterates. Can't even use computers!

Supporting and promoting the torturous aerial hunting of wolves or any animal is barbaric!

Anyone, no matter what party, who is involved in the slaughter of any of God's Creations is as far as I am concerned not fit to hold the title of toilet cleaner. Sarah's photos of her shooting helpless wolves and the one of her squatting above a dead wolf show what she is. A cold blooded monster. She needs to read Genesis. God said to have dominion over the creatures of the earth, not destroy them. If she claims to be a Christian, well I sure would not want to answer to God for what she is doing.
