Former President Bill Clinton declared this evening that Barack Obama has the right policies on the economy and "light years better" on healthcare than Republican John McCain.

In a rally in Pennsylvania, before joining Barack Obama in Florida tonight for their first unity rally, Clinton said that his fellow Democrat not only has the right policies, but also the right principles of inclusion.

"We've had eight years of top down, and it did not work," the former president said.

He told the crowd that voters are making a hiring decision on who will fix the economy and restore the United States's standing in the world, and Obama is by far the better choice.

After the Florida joint rally, Clinton plans events on Thursday in Youngstown and Toledo, Ohio, before going to Minnesota on behalf of US Senate candidate Al Franken. On Saturday, Clinton will attend events in West Virginia and New Jersey before traveling to New Hampshire on Sunday to campaign for Obama and US Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen.

Hillary Clinton's political action committee also released a video with both her and her husband standing in front of an "Obama-Biden" sign and urging voters to go to the polls for the Democratic ticket.
