Final four day push by unions
The nation's largest labor federation announced today that it will launch a final get-out-the-vote effort for Barack Obama and other Democrats.
Starting Saturday and through Election Day, the AFL-CIO and its community affiliate Working America plans to reach more than 13 million union voters in 21 battleground states. The effort is to include visits to more than 3.9 million households, 5.5 million phone calls, and 2 million leaflets dropped at worksites.
"This unprecedented effort is the culmination of months of hard work by hundreds of thousands of union volunteers who are leading the fight to turn around America," AFL-CIO President John Sweeney said in a statement. "Heading down the homestretch, there's more grassroots energy and enthusiasm for change among working families than ever before. We're hitting critical mass at precisely the right time."

Great work to the men and women of the AFL-CIO! Maybe you could educate "Joe the Plumber" (has no company, has no license, owes back taxes etc.) on how to do a professional job the right way! Make it happen and be proud of what you are achieving - GET IT DONE! Congratulations!
Excellent, looking forward to seeing what new company unions can work to bankrupt. Don't worry, though, the feds have it covered. Banks, automakers, who's next?
Great work to the men and women of the AFL-CIO! Your reward will be the passage of the Employee Free Choice Act under a Democratic-controlled Congress and presidency. My union coffers will be filled to the brim with new members who have been physically forced and threatened to join our union!!!
With all these new union dues me and my fellow union bosses will be able to buy more vacation homes in the Caribbean and pay for our mistresses. We will be able to pad the payroll with our relatives.
We will add to our limo pool to drive us around and pretend we are bargaining for your rights. We will be able to eat at fancier restaurants where we'll continue to meet behind the scenes with the company representatives to work out the union contracts and then put on an act at the bargaining table to make it look like we're really sticking up for you. Ha! Ha!!
GIT 'ER DONE! Congratulations!..........SUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a union member who has volunteered in Ohio. I have knocked on hundreds of doors in the last week asking fellow union members to support Barack Obama and Joe Biden. I have yet to knock on any front doors made of gold.
Workers are workers. Union members have just made a judgment that it makes more sense to work together for a common cause that will benefit both their families and their fellow worker's families. Really radical stuff!
