Joe for Congress?
Joe the plumber's 15 minutes of fame might eventually become 2 years in Washington.
Soon after Joe Wurzelbacher became John McCain's favorite symbol of the working class and future small business owner, a draft movement started to get him to run for Congress in the Toledo area in 2010.
Today, he told conservative radio talk show host Laura Ingraham he just might. "I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight, Marcy Kaptur definitely has a following in this area," he said. "But, you know, I'd be up for it."
While Kaptur is a long-time Democratic incumbent, a spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee told CNN it t welcome Wurzelbacher's candidacy with "open arms.” "We support Joe the Plumber and people like him everyday with our support for lower taxes and energy independence," NRCC spokesman Ken Spain said.
