McCain, Obama nearly equal in negative ads
While most polls show that voters believe John McCain is running a more negative campaign than Barack Obama, a new count out today suggests they are running nearly equal numbers of negative TV ads in local markets.
Nielsen Media Research says that from June 3, when the Democratic primaries ended, through Sept. 7, the most recent reporting period, the McCain campaign ran 76,238 negative ads against Obama, and the Obama campaign placed 75,246 negative commercials against McCain.
Viewers in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin have been barraged by the most negative spots, Nielsen said.
McCain's most-aired negative ads criticized Obama on taxes, spending, and foreign oil and domestic drilling. Obama's went after McCain on the economy, the Iraq war, and the housing crisis.
Negative ads are nothing new. What is new, at least to me, is McCain"s gross misrepresentations of Obama's position on issues. I used to like McCain but his misrepresentations about his record and about Obama, and his pick of Palin has caused me to lose my respect for him. He seems to have lost it himself.
Factcheck.org goes through every ad and determines not whether it is negative, but do the facts check out. McCain's ads are higher in distortions than Obama's, so this is where the public may have more disbelief about McCain and Palin.
There was a lot of controversy over the "sex-education for kindergartners" ad. But Obama did vote for a bill that did have language in it that said mentioned sex-education for k-12. Age appropriate sex-education is still sex-education. Whether you agree with it is one thing, but McCain's ad was not a lie as many of Obama's defenders (AKA the MSM) claimed.
Negative adds tells us that McCain has no vision. That is the question that is raised when someone chooses to run 100% negative adds in times when vision is needed.

Only bad leaders and regimes run negative adds and solution. History an China, Old Russia Hitler Germany are endless examples of these conspiracy ennemy and racial solutions. Cynically the intensify when the leader actually needs vision and got stuck. Negative adds show no respect and that is the basis of bad regime like racism.
Good luck and it is your task as a journalist to fight for decency. A lot of people in the world watch and see that USA looses respect amoung the leaders and therefore it is hard to respect the USA. Please USA, show respect and guide us. We need each other.
In this campaign, negative ads really only tell us who is behind in the polls. When Obama was behind, he actually ran a higher percentage of negative ads as well as a higher number of them. Now that McCain is far behind, they are trying anything to make up ground. I do not find McCain's any more untrue than Obama's ads. People run negative ads because they often work. It happens. It is silly to compare this to Hilter's Germany and to call it racism. Very silly.
This is all very funny to me seeing how Senator Obama has dodged every single question about himself as well as Senator Biden. People do me a favor, look up 1988 presidential elections and see why Senator Biden dropped out of the primaries. Ask yourself these questions:
1. Do you want someone like him being your next Vice President?
2. Do you want someone like Senator Obama who launched his career in William Ayers' living room to be your next President?
3. Don't ask yourself if America is ready for a "Black President, but ask is he ready to be the President?
4. Do you want to become a Socialist Country? If so please vote for Senator Obama. That is the only change he has offered through his whole campaign.
