McClellan endorses Obama

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor October 23, 2008 07:21 PM

It shouldn't come as a surprise that a comedian broke news this afternoon in the presidential race.

With Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, and Stephen Colbert as much a part of the mix as anyone else, comedian D.L. Hughley got a scoop in a snippet of his new show on CNN, called aptly "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News."

"You haven't endorsed anybody," Hughley cajoled former White House press secretary Scott McClellan. "There is McCain and there is Obama. You know, I’m a new show, and your endorsement probably would mean a lot. Don't look at the fact that I'm black. Nothing like - no pressure. Endorse somebody, Damn it. Endorse somebody."

McClellan, who wrote a book bashing his former bosses in the Bush administration, replied, "From the very beginning I've said I'm going to support the candidate who has the best chance of changing the way Washington works and getting things done. I will be voting for Barack Obama."

Than you Mr. McClellan!! Every vote counts!! John McCain has become a creton caricature for republican party. I had to laugh when he called Mr. Ayers "a washed-out" terrorist. Considering McCain is about 16 years older, what does that make McCain?? I think "an old washed-out politician" aptly describes him! We need NEW and modern leadership. McCain has been in Washington for almost 30 years and has done very little, if anything, for the middle class. We need intelligent and wise leadership, Senator Obama has proven he is a leader and a man of wisdom and vision. McCain is overgrown worn bully who lies, lies, and lies.

When McCain decreases Medicare coverage, will my mother lose her Home Healthcare Provider? This means I will have to leave work to care for her.

So I guess you would rather have the guy with no experience that always votes the party line after adding a million dollars in earmarks to every bill, and his 36 year Washington insider cohort, the second coming of Spiro Agnew. That crisis Biden says is coming? Barack is going to vote "Present!"

I always felt sorry for the guy. His job was to be Pinocchio in front of the world. You could see it in the way he handled his on-air time that he had too much self respect to be smug while blatantly lying to the world. I made a mental note to find out whatever happened to him. I'm glad he reminded me. Poor sap forgot to sell his soul.

Does anybody really care what Scott thinks? Is this really newsworthy? Why don't dont we find out first if Obama is really a naturalized US citizen... 12 days left people.

Obama is so superior to McCain all the latter can do is use the fear message if Obama is elected because he has nothing creative to offer the american people-his choice of Pallin is a disgrace a man who is 72 and has had cancer 4 times picks a person with no foreign policy experience who he has only met for 15 minutes.Obama will choice people with the understanding of issues to advise him like his V.P. and other democratic and republican leaders.

First Powell, now McClellan. The very folks who handed the American people a bill of goods on Iraq and a myriad other issues. The very folks who when in a position of power chose to remain in power rather than do the right thing for their country. How is this a good thing for Obama? Inquiring minds want to know.

is this supposed to be news? Who the hell cares about this idiot's endorsement?

McCain supporters should be very afraid....he wants to cut Medicare, he will most likely screw with social security ('cuz he thinks it's a disgrace), take away employer-provided healthcare benefits and make us purchase it (who the hell can afford that?), make abortion illegal (i guess we don't have enough pregnant teenagers in the country...we need more), and on top of that, he wants women to pay for their birth control! Free mammos may go out the window as well. This man is insane and dangerous. And what's wrong with "spreading the wealth"....do you like not getting a tax break? Do you enjoy watching OIL COMPANIES and CORPORATE American get the breaks? Why? Do they need them? What about middle-class? Where's our break?

I'm a die-hard, yellow dog Texas Democrat, Fred, but let me tell you this: if you really think Scott McClellan is a little creep from a stupid family, you obviously don't know him or them. They are honorable opponants who have been instrumental in turning the Lone Star State from solid Blue to solid Red. Much to my dismay, I might add.

To Nina: you say that Obama has "proven he is a leader and a man of wisdom and vision. " Ok, WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING? Jeese. Come back when you can tell me WHERE and WHEN he has proved anything about himself. Ma'am, he simply has no experience. And i completely agree with all of the people who say, " Who is the heck cares what Mr. "Scott Mclellan I'm endorsing Obama pants" says. I've never heard of the guy. Why would i care who he's voting for?
