Obama ad: Are you better off?
Barack Obama unveiled a new TV ad this afternoon that is all about the economy and that shows him at the White House.
"The highest unemployment in seven years," the announcer says, as matching images appear on screen. "A record one million homes in foreclosure. Financial markets in turmoil. Wages declining, food and gas prices soaring."
Obama appears on screen. "For too many, the American dream is fading," he says. "The middle class is struggling.
"We simply can’t afford more of the same. We need a new direction. Now. And that’s why I’m running for president."
The closing shot is of Obama walking across the White House lawn -- just as if he were president headed to his Marine helicopter.

Halliburton is better off. The Carlyle Group is better off. The House of Saud is better off. Exxon-Mobil is better off. Hensley & Co. is better off. Average citizens? They don't matter except as false caricatures like Joe the Plumber.
If Obama became President, we'd be even worse off than today.
Obama doing the job right in Afghanistan and not going into Iraq would have left us much stronger today.
