Veep candidates coming to New Hampshire

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor October 10, 2008 05:35 PM

Sarah Palin will make her first New England appearance next week as the Republican vice presidential nominee.

The Foster's Daily Democrat is reporting this morning that the staff at Dover High School has been alerted to expect Palin for a rally next Wednesday. John McCain's presidential campaign is scouting other potential stops.

UPDATE: Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden will be in New Hampshire on Monday.

Biden will campaign at the American Legion hall in Rochester and at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester. Biden was scheduled to campaign in New Hampshire on Monday but canceled due to a death in his family.

McCain and Palin have been campaigning together this week through Midwest battleground states. But after what they consider a successful performance in last week's vice presidential debate, McCain's advisers have been more willing to send Palin out on her own.

New Hampshire, which saved McCain's presidential bid in January, is also looming as a potential swing state in November, though Democrat Barack Obama has surged into the lead in the polls.

Oh great, Palin gets to bring her traveling circus of hate to New England. Fantastic.

Maybe this time she'll even bring a cross or two to burn.

i hope the teachers at dover high tell all the students that palin used her gubernatorial powers to illegally search private documents and then have people fired and then subsequently to quash the investigation into such abuse. Make sure you point that out to your students, ok? There's a real civics lesson here.

Mr Obama is NOT like most Americans. Not because of race but because of values. Rugged individualism, Independence, personal responsibility IS at the core of Traditioal American Values. Please Support them and McCain/Palin.

Palin is smart, strong-willed, and is probably the most attractive VP candidate of alltime. So of course, most women hate her. Women are catty like that. That being said, she is not suitable for the Presidency and thus offers the McCain ticket very little. She would make a good Energy Secretary or Interior Secretary, but her foreign policy experience is just plain awful. She could not be trusted with our military and our relationships abroad. Mitt Romney was the only choice that could have saved McCain's ticket. Mccain blew it. I will vote for McCain, because of how terrible of candidate Obmaa is. Basically the male version of Palin as far expereince.

To all,

I deeply and sincerely apologize for my earlier postings and insensitive behavior. I was paid by the Obama campaign to say these things on any blog I can find. I really don't believe in them but I'm a struggling college student who needs some pizza dough (get it?).

How dumb do you have to be to believe that Palin and McCain are the answer to anything? How dumb do you have to be to think that four more years of Republican rule will solve what's fast becoming the worst financial mess in America's history? How dumb do you have to be to believe that all the creatures of this earth (humans included) will be the better served with McCain and Palin at the helm? How dumb do you have to be to be among the 28% of Americans who still think GWB is doing one heck of a job? How dumb do you have to be to believe that hate-filled attacks are the way to a better county? Evidently you have to be from NH. I live in the state, and God help us if there are really this many morons living among us.

After falsely claiming, again, that she said "Thanks but no thanks" to the Bridge to Nowhere, maybe Palin will hold a press conference and take questions on her witchhunting preacher and her secessionist ties. Oh, I forgot, it's only "NObama" that has an allegedly shady past.

I hope I can get the day off to see her. And db, from everything I've been hearing for the past few weeks, hate is more than abundant in New England and from the pulpits of certain churches as well. You can step down off of your high horse now.

Can't wait to attend...she is a breath of fresh air who tells the truth and is a true yankee thinker. Are you sure all these negative comments have not been put in by ACORN folks? Seems like the posts have all been the same and the same rhetoric (kind of like all those votes will be that they have submitted). Does not sound like true NH folks who have always been fair thinkers with good judgement. Go NH!

Here are some Palin doozies for those of you with your heads in the sand. She say "nu-cu-ler" fer crissakes.

"I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people."

"It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where—where do they go?"

Sarah Palin may be many things, but she is definitely not a jerk -- takes on the Alaskan GOP and wins, takes on the oil industry and wins, can shoot, fly a plane, married to a blue-collar hunk, has 5 kids, including a Down's Syndrome baby whom she calls "perfect." Apparently "dissembler," quoted above, thinks that free speech is for Lefties only, and the rest of us should shut up. That's not how it works here in America.

“Troopergate”? Poopergate!!!_Doggone it, folks can’tcha see what the liberal press is tryin’ to do to the most popular governor in the whole wide world? (Yup, the same liberal press who’s been palin’ around with the domestic terrorists and who hate us for our freedom, and don’t even CARE that she’s just like us and all that.)_I mean, come on guys, it wasn’t Sarah, it was Todd – “The First Dude” who got all mavericky and did this stuff behind her back when she was busy shootin’ wolves from helicopters and fightin’ oil companies and stuff, makin’ sure ol’ Putin isn’t raisin’ up his head in her airspace and such. AND tellin’ Congress ” no thanks to that bridge to nowhere” and all the other stuff that’s made her the most popular governor in the world and all._Don’tcha’ see? It’s not Sarah, she’s just like us! And besides, she’s part of a pair of mavericks that are plannin’ on fixin’ every thing that’s wrong with the world. You betcha’! Remember, she’s just like us!!! Ya’ gotta’ don’t blink on this one! It’s Obama and all HIS domestic terrorist pals from his kindergarten years! They’re the ones! Don’t blink or the secret Muslims will be all over ya’ thicker’n black flies on a three-day-old moose carcass. You betcha!!!

Come on Folks, do you really think she is qualified to be President should something happen to McCain??? Frightening thought...and I would've supported McCain before George W. did such a number on him in NC years ago. McCain's choice of Palin showed really poor judgement on his part.

Bring your pitchforks and torches! The losing ticket's conservative consolation and catharsis tour is on its way. Remember now, the chants are "NoBama!," "Terrorist!," "Kill Him!," and "Sig Heil!." Oh wait...that last one isn't P.C.

I will bet the entirety of my rapidly dwindling 401k that Sarah P could could not speak for 15 minutes regarding her (or McCain's) plan for the US without attacking the opposition. Her entire campaign and existence is defined by her disrespect and incitment of hatred for one man. It's petty and unbecoming for someone aspiring to be VP. New Hampshire has a keen nose for BS, and while I am sure she will have a couple hundred folks who want to shout racial epithets in her presence, the rest of us have no time for her.

I'm an independent in NH. And many of your posts are exactly the reason I can't stomach the Republican Party right now. Do you really think all this nasty name calling, racism and divisiveness is what America needs? You are dividing America with hate and racism and making our great country weak. You love to throw the "Liberal" label at anyone who doesn't agree with you. And about the horrible, terrible press--sure, we all need to get our information from many sources, but when will you stop letting the far right talking heads do your thinking for you? And you bring God into this? Would God advocate killing a candidate and lopping off his head as some Republican supporters are advocating? How embarassing to associate with that group of people at this time!

I'll be there along with my brother a life long democrat (and proud to say FORMER liberal) to cheer Sarah on! You people against Sarah make me sick. You are all either the freshly indoctrinated (at your little community colleges) into the American bashing liberal tripe or you are the old aging 60s radical losers. Obama is a complete fraud. He didn't even author his own racist book. He will bring death and utter poverty to this great nation of freedom. He is a hater and a fraud. I predict that if he does get in he will commit suicide within two years just like Hitler.

Oy. If you want to watch some scary tv, watch the crazies coming out of the wood work at the Republican rallies. Just what Dover needs! McCain and Co. must be so proud.... what a class act.

You know I am a college student who works full time also. I sit in class and I hear students do nothing but bash McCain and the republican party since they are "sick of the war". I am also tired of the war but if Obama gets voted in he can't just snap his fingers and bring everyone home. In fact he is going to keep the troops out in the middle east except put them in Pakistan. Not only is he going to keep our troops in a dangerous country but he will televise his attacks across national television. I understand people's frustrations but don't vote for Obama just because he says he will bring change.

I am so tired of being accused of the very things the liberal foaming-at-the-mouth crazies are doing! Shall we talk about race baiting? Governor Palin wears a white blouse and she's accused of being a KKK bigot! People at Obama rallies, meanwhile, wear obscene tee shirts reviling Palin and consider themselves within their rights to do so. The Democratic Underground 's latest thread asks commentators to come up with nicknames and postersto slime Palin and then to "spread them all ove the net". A photographer takes pictures of Senator McCain and then smears red on his mouth making him look like a vampire, all in the name of "art" of course. I have read so many mean-spirited, vile epithets thrown at the Republican candidates in the past two months that I do feel like fighting back, but I will fight with letters to the editor, comments on blogs, and at the ballot box. The crazy Democrat loonies have debased this country with their filthy lies, and then blame the Republicans for the sewer we now find this country in. It's a disgrace!
