Palin will drop puck at NHL game

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor October 8, 2008 07:33 PM

Well, once Sarah Palin described herself as just an average hockey mom, you could see this coming.

An NHL team -- the Philadelphia Flyers to be precise -- announced today that the Republican vice presidential nominee will drop the puck at their game Saturday night versus the New York Rangers.

It's part of a promotion to find the "ultimate hockey mom" and Palin will share the ice with the regional winner.

"Because of the tremendous amount of publicity she has brought to our sport, we invited the most popular hockey mom in North America to our home opener to help us get our season started,” Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider said in a statement. “We are very excited she has accepted our offer and we are very proud of the publicity she is generating for hockey moms and the sport of hockey.”

Pennsylvania is looking like a must-win state for the Republican ticket, and the way the campaign is going, the Flyers (known as the Broad Street Bullies for their brawling ways) seem like an appropriate choice.

Poor Sarah Palin, shoutin' and flailin', flingin' some old moose doo-doo. She don't have to read, she don't have to think, and she's got her sights set on you. Please Mrs. Dude, don't be so darned rude, don't stoop to those old Karl Rove tricks! If you're gonna run, put down that big gun, put away all the stones and the sticks. Remember Old McCain, who's now such a pain, the way he once talked straight and true? C'mon, Sarah Palin, this tactic is failin', let's hear somethin' honest from you.

Let's elect the smart guy this time, and send Governor Moosekiller and Senator McNasty to Alaska for a LONG vacation.

I think she already "dropped the puck" while speaking at her rallies, and not calling out those who where screaming, "kill him," "treason," and "terrorist," when speaking about Obama. This woman is shamless.

I would not attend the game just because Palin is going to be there. I do not see how she has brought any publicity to the Flyers. They made a name for them selves with alot of hard work.

I never play or even interest in the sport of hockey in my life but since Sarah Palin came along with the "hockey mom" slogan I'm starting to watch it on TV.It may not too long before I will start my first practice.

You can always count on Philly to bring out the worst in hockey.

Sporting events are the one place where 2 political sides can come together and cheer their team on without politics. An escape from the real world if you will. Well, so much for that, eh? I have to say that I'm glad Center Ice is having a free weekend and will televise this. I'm DYING to see the abuse Flyers fans are known for hurled her way. Don't let me down Philly!

Based on her lies and sleazy political rhetoric Palin is obviously not a true religious person, nor a person of god. I am disappointed in the Flyers choice of Palin over honesty and integrity.

I find it interesting, that everyone in this country is screaming for someone new. We do not want the "same good old boys club" running this country. In the same breath you complain that Sarah doesn't have experience. She has more experience than Obama! Well people, you can't have both ways. Sarah speaks to the people and relates to the people. The women who don't relate are just theatened! She is someone who can have a career and children too. So it make me think the democrates can have only one or the other. Google Obama and Acorn. Judge for yourself, who really theatens this county, a terrorist or a woman!
