Powerful troika or three stooges?
John McCain and Republicans have been calling the potential Washington leadership troika of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid a "dangerous threesome" and warning they'll slash defense spending.
Now, the Republican National Committee has a web video comparing the presidential candidate, House speaker, and Senate majority leader to three Stooges.
The announcer poses a series of leading questions, followed by vintage footage of Moe, Curly, and Larry.
"What happens with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid running the government?" the narrator says. "Ooooowww!" Moe is shown saying.
"Unchecked they’ll squeeze the American taxpayer." Moe says, "I’ll squeeze the cider out of your Adam’s apple."
"Who’ll stop them from spreading the wealth?" Curly says, " No objections. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk."
"How will they respond in an international crisis? They can’t wait!" Larry says, "Whoooaaaa! Whooaaaaa!"

that makes me want to vote for them more
Republicans should not have been so pathetic the last 8 years that Dems can grab all the seats. It will be too bad the checks and balances are minimized but it was too bad when they were minimized for Bush. Get off the personal attacks, fear mongering, lies and smears and start to rebuild your philosophy for the next election.
Nyuk...Nyuk...Nyuk..........The McCain camaign team must be so proud of themselves.....it's like they are involved in their own office pie fight already......blaming everyone but themselves for a woeful campaign which started to go downhill when McCain was forced to put Palin on the ticket.........Nyuk.....Nyuk.....Nyuk
Oh lighten up Dems. That's one thing you've been missing all along in your DNA, a sense of humor. Everything is so doom and gloom with you. Global Melting! Protectionist Economic Policies! Bush Bush Bush! Help Help!! etc etc.
LIGHTEN UP!! Life is too short.
A new low in the trivialization of American politics. Who is likely to be persuaded by an ad like this? In its desperation, the entire Republican Party seems to be losing all sense of what works in American politics. Michelle Bachmann advocates a McCarthy-like witch-hunt in Congress, Liddy Dole puts out the dishonest and despicable "There is no God" ad, McCain/Palin starts to call Obama a socialist and a communist. Sure, you can rile up a few wackos with this kind of stuff, but I like to think that the majority of Americans know absurd, specious hate-mongering when they see it. RIP: Republican Party, at least for a decde or two
Wouldn't it be better if you took some steps to get off welfare instead of hoping for even more government handouts? There are jobs out there, I'm sure you will find something if you just keep looking.
#6 - This is the same type of indifference the republican party has shown to the american public for 30 years. Contrary to your belief, most people would love to be able to work and make a livable wage. The problem is, even with huge tax breaks, "american" company are shipping their production to other countries because they can pay them less. They want to hold on to the profits - nothing wrong with wantiing to be profitable - but how in the hell are americans supposed to be able to afford their product if we aren't allowed to compete in the workforce? They pay the non-american worker so little that that can't afford to buy the
product. "Made in America" is the ticket to getting America on track again.
They would be a powerful troika should Obama become President. In fact, Pelosi and Reid might be imagining that they are going to run the show, since Obama doesn't have a clue how the Presidency or the Congress works. That's the reason why Pelosi and Reid worked so hard to kill Hilary Clinton's nomination. If Hilary were the candidate, she would have won hands down and then really be the President. Pelosi and Reid are banking on Obama to be their puppet, but if he suddenly became the wise guy, our country would be in hell... God help us!!! Please vote for McCain...
As the race finally grinds down and polls are narrowing, I can only hope that many people have finally had all the Obamagasms they can handle. I never could fathom the idolization of him until I saw a recent Jaywalkers segment on The Tonight Show and saw the state of mind of our youth and students today.
I have a son who is a college student with his head screwed on right. He told me he was astounded at all his classmates who were voting for the neophyte because they thought it was the cool thing to do, and if they made a mistake they could just vote him out in 4 years. If the numbers hold up as usual, approximately 125 federal district court and appeals court judges will be appointed FOR LIFE in those 4 years, not to mention the possibility of 1 or 2 Supremes. These are the people who will interpret the constitution for cases effecting us and our children. Now think of the kind of people Barack has kept company with. I'm not saying Barack can't be a good president someday. I just don't think he is anywhere near ready. He needs 8 more years in the Senate to establish a voting record and actually write meaningful legislation. I'm actually a registered democrat, but I agree with the way Dennis Miller put it on Leno's show. Far from being a bastion of conservatism, he said he was going with John McCain because he gave 5 years of his life for his country and he deserved 4 of them back!
James you fail to consider that Obama is an expert on law. You worry about an area where he is 10x more qualified than McCain ever will be. That is not even debatable. McCain promised to follow Bush on appointments and Bush is the man who politicized attorney generals to a disgusting degree, had Gonzalez refuse to answer subpoenas and thought Harriet Miers was worthy of the Supreme Court! McCain being a prisoner on his failed mission has nothing to do with any of that.
