Americans split on Palin

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor November 12, 2008 12:14 PM

Americans are still deeply divided about Sarah Palin, this year's Republican vice presidential nominee who is already making noises about running for president in 2012.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released today found that 49 percent have a favorable opinion of Palin, while 43 percent have an unfavorable opinion.

Her numbers have dropped slightly from before last week's election, when the favorable/unfavorable split was 51 percent to 41 percent among registered voters. Her favorability peaked at 57 percent, just after her national debut during the Republican convention.

Palin's running mate, meanwhile, is viewed more favorably since losing last week. John McCain gets a 61 percent-36 percent favorable split in the poll, compared to 56 percent to 41 percent in mid-October.

The new survey was done Nov. 6-9 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

John McCain was not Sarah Palin's "running mate". She was his running mate. Have IQs just dropped overnight as a result of the emergence of this fundamentalist simpleton on the national stage?

Ever since the election the libbies have been saying that they wanted to move on beyond all the partisan sniping and bickering [(of course we all know this is just to give their guy the best chance to succeed, and preempt as much criticism of him as possible – and especially stop the conservatives from revealing as much of Obama’s inconsistencies as possible.- All of this so he can install as many of his social programmies as possible.)] They say republicans should just be big and accept Obama’s win, yet that is not what they did with Bush. They started sniping from day one even though Bush won ‘three’ recounts. Also, remember when the outgoing Clinton people took the ‘W’ of the keyboards (that wasn’t very mature and accepting of the democratic outcome was it), and the libbie-libs did not stop sniping for 8 years. Now they expect us to just give their guy a free hand. WHAT HYPOCRACY !!

I might have somewhat let up on Obama if it was not for what I am seeing now……. With McCain on Leno (the’ Skunk Haired’ Man with his non-stop jokes about McCain and few about Obama) last night I am seeing the ‘Same Old liberal Hypocrisy’ and sniping at McCain. So much for their kinder, gentler compassionate-liberal mindset (liberals are just as full of HATE & BIGOTRY as anyone but they just get called on it SO much less because the Liberal Media is in their back left pocket).

Liberals are not more compassionate and humanitarian than anyone else. They will Lie, Cheat, & Backstab more than anyone when they don’t get their way. All so they can continue to promote themselves as compassionate while they spew Hate to create a society just for themselves. They substantially get away with it because the Media lets them (which shows the Media’s Hypocrisy)…… The ‘Media’s Bigotry’ really showed in this election, and this Bias (along with their Kissing Cousin, Hollywood’s) really influenced many susceptible young minds. Obama was made to look hip while McCain was criticized at every turn (this is why myself and others think we have a MEDIA INDUCED PRESIDENT).

Also, since the outgoing Clintonians took the W’s of the keyboards maybe the Republicans should take the O’s off the keyboards, or maybe the B, H & O’s off. After all if the Libbies never get called on their antics they feel encouraged to continue (so much for their maturity level). When children don’t get spanked they grow up to be like the spoiled brats the Libbie-O’libs are today (especially with the media having their back like it does Obama’s).

No, with what I am seeing today I will not let up on Obama. I will continue to point out his, and the Media’s Hypocrisy, and point out why I think he IS a ‘Media Induced President’ who just got the “Biggest Dose of Affirmative Action Ever”………..

Da Truth, you are just a bitter idiot! You are so blinded by that bitterness, that you will never be happy about anything.....especially your own life! Snap out of it....start living your life again! If things don't go well the next 4 years, just go out an vote in a Republican!

paranoid moron seems like a better description for "Da Truth". Is someone a bit bitter?

"Obama softens ban on hiring lobbyists" -- just another inconsistency,

"President-elect Barack Obama, who vowed during his campaign that lobbyists "won't find a job in my White House," said through a spokesman yesterday that he would allow lobbyists on his transition team as long as they work on issues unrelated to their earlier jobs."

another promise broken.

Da Truth - Go seek some truth - Nah, just seek some help. You write with the nonsensical cadence that Sarah Palin talks with.

Da Truth: Now, I finally get it, we progressives weren't "spanked" enough when we were young! You can't blame the media for the words out of Palin's OWN mouth--she never did get it right that the VP doesn't preside over the Senate, etc. When someone is running for such an important role, at least he or she should understand such a simple, basic Constitutional job description. She also has trouble completing a simple, cohesive sentence w/ out rambling on and on and on, sounding more like a "Valley Girl." She just changes the subject when she can't or won't answer a question. Face it--she is still manipulating you w/ her blather, and Fox news is eating it up.

In case you children hadn't noticed, my comment was in response to 'your' libbie-lib sniping,................ which has not stopped.

Da Truth - A media induced president? Are you for real? Not once did the MSM run a non-stop loop of Sarah Palin being exorcised of witchcraft by her witch doctor pastor. Not once did the MSM bring up John McCains association with the racist bigot, Jerry Falwell. On the other hand, we heard ad nauseum the 7 second loop of Rev. J. Wright and incessantly of Palin shouting how Obama "pals around with terrorists". If you do your homework you will find that most of the mainstream media outlets are owned by Republican right-leaning corporations. Please, turn off Limbaugh and stop calling people names and begin thinking for yourself.

Good to see you conservatives are just as bitter and stupid as before the election. Look to the triteness of your own comments to realize why you got your a$$ handed to you. While the rest of our country is moving forward, have fun with your constant whining and immature comments. Better yet, just get the hell out of our way while we fix this country that you have completely screwed up over the last 8 years.

Da Truth knows not what he speaks of.

If you can not lobby while working for the Obama administration, are you still a lobbiest? No, if I can not play football any longer am I still a football player? You see the difference is that Obama won't let lobbiest work for him AND be lobbiest.

All that sniping, and none of you even attempted to speak to any of the points raised.

TOO much truth for you !!

Afraid if you spoke about the points it would just highlight them more (keep quite, sweep them under the rug, like the media does).

Roaches scurry when the lights go on.

You had the chance to stop the sniping, but every time McCain or Palin is in the news you keep it going.

Hypocrites.

And about your whining………….

Wad-Eva!

Da Truth: All the TV stations ran Rev. Wrights's comments thousands of time and Palin's accusations that Obama "pal'd around w/ terrorists" (plural). Not once did Obama mention McCain's relationship w/ the Keating 5 scandal, his friendship w/ convicted felon, unrepentent master-mind of the Watergate burglary G. Gordon Liddy who tried to subvert the Constitution and a democratic presidential election, and McCain's cozy-up's to right-wing televangelists (who he had never given a hoot about before running for president). Palin is keeping herself in the news; she has become a real media wh***. Face it--it was Republicans who rejected Palin. You folks have just got to stop blaming the messenger when you don't like the message.

Palin suffers from dangling participles.

She should seek help for that affliction before making any more speeches.

Hey, Da Truth:
If you're so unhappy with the country that you're delusional enough to believe the gimbecilic garbage you spew, do us all a favor -- leave it. Can't do that? Try walking in front of a bus. Hey, no meaner that what you've said already. True Americans don't need or want microscopic-minded morons like you vomiting hatred. We'd rather get people who accept the fact that the Republicans blew it big-time that last 8 years and understand it's time to fix things as best we can.

Sarah is here for the long haul. She and whats-his-name still took 47% of the vote, which was far more than they should have got, given the way Bush had abandoned Republican small-government values, and the awful economic news. Get used to reading a lot about her.

So much 'HATE' from those Compassionate Liberals.

I thought they were above HATE.

(exposed for what they really are)

So many comments like: Love thy Brother, Get a Life, Don't be SO Bitter or Paranoid, Etc, etc., etc…………….. Is that what you have been doing for the “Past Eight Years”.

You need to take your own advice.....................

I am just trying to keep the TRUTH flowing, as opposed to it being swept under the rug by the media.

(and aperson, I guess we will see you walking in front of a bus)

With free democracy and the freedom of speech comes good press and bad press. The libbys have MSNBC and the righties have Fox news. If the net coverage on Palin has been negative its because her public appearances, interviews, debate performances have shown that her skills are very low. The hype is because of her personality and personal religious beliefs. If people dont agree to those or even dont know her personally.. the only image to judge is her on screen one and sorry its a very very poor image of a desparate ambitious woman with not many skills in brain but gets by with her personality. Her clothes and brain issues will continue to hog the limelight because people who dont think good looks, personality are qualities to be a political figure, will continue to read and make negative stories about her. Everybody in public eyes with questionable traits gets bad press!

The libbys have MSNBC. .............. and NBC, and CNN, And ABC, and CBS, and PBS...............

Wonder why Biden didn't get nearly so much bad press because his mouth is worse than Palin !! Biden will give Obama many International Headaches (along with Obama's Inexperience). Those two will be a great International 'Laurel & Hardy' team.
