Joe the watchdog?

Joe the plumber only position he has been put in is a laughing stock to the rest of the country. He does not have a clue how business works let alone politics. He gets some air time on national news because he cant figure out what his tax base would be, on Obama's tax rate if he purchased the business from his boss. If you cant figure that out than i dont want you keeping politicans in line. You wont know what to look for. Fire your agent and get back to work plumbing houses. If you even know how to do that.

As a Republican, I am embarassed that Joe is exploiting this situation. It might have turned out to be innocent, but now it seems that Joe is just looking for an easy buck. Now, I see he has a book coming out soon.... gosh, Joe, you surely must be highly intelligent to write a book so fast.
I don't think you should represent anyone, especially me. You gave an interview in which you talked about principles on Fox. I question if YOU know what that word means:
NOt a licensed plumber.. You owe taxes. Didn't pay a hospital bill. Received Welfare...that makes you a Hypocrite (know what that word means, Joe? And worse of all. You didn't pay Child Support. So, Joe the plummer, who neglected to get a plumbing license and who had a tax lien against him thinks he should be a watchdog. Maybe he should consider getting his own house together before throwing stones.

Joe is an average American with normal ups and downs like everyone else.
It is an absolute disgrace for people to delve into his personal life, because he ask a simple questions.

I think it is time to put the "Joe" character in its' proper place. Reporters need to actually watch the video and "Fact check" and then report the true version of the story. Continuing the saga using the cherry picked sound bites that were used for political gain is not true reporting. There is so much misinformation on this guy that the truth needs to be told. Watch his interviews outside of his house to see his opinions and views too. Where is the part of this story today that explains that he plans to take a paycheck out of donations to his "Watchdog" group? Taking biased information from Newsmax.com, a "conservative website" which asks for donations to it's Republican sponsor through emails, is slanted reporting to me.

And, for the record Joe the Plumber asked a question of Mr. Obama. Mr. Obama's answer scared 48% of voting Americans.

I welcome this. I really do. The best arguments that can be made for one side of an argument are the worst possible arguments made in support of the other side. Joe the Simpleton (psst - businesses are taxed on what they net, Joe, not what they gross) can only help the cause of progressive governance by taking up the mantle of Bush/Cheney/conservative opposition to our new government.

Joe has a voice now, so perhaps good will come out of his watchdog site...it's obvious that the American taxpayer needs to watch more closely how our money is being spent. Maybe if we had more "Joe's" out there, we would not have the current financial mess.

Joe the Plumber in lipstick turned out to be an opportunistic primadona. One of the campaigns made him famous but it was a phony famous based on nothing but air and lies. He also was an unsuccessful political ploy for the campaign that tried to use him. He may find that there are precious few who want to remember him. I can't imagine who would want to read a book by him or listen to his "amateur" efforts at singing. Personally, I wish he'd go back to school to qualify for a real plumber's license and then quietly go fix leaky toilets or whatever it is that a real plumber does.

I am the Service Manager at a plumbing company that has been in business since 1923 in Southern California. We are a Union Shop. My plumbers must go through a 5 year apprenticeship before they become a Journeyman and even then it takes years to gain the real experience needed to be a quality plumber. It is true that Joe does not have a license and that he does not need to have one in most states if he is only working as an employee. Some states DO require that you are licensed even if you are JUST an employee. When Joe asked Senator Obama, what would happen to him under the new tax plan if he buys his bosses business, assumes that Senator Obama would have in depth knowledge of the business assets, liabilties, and projected earnings. Those are things that Joe should be investigating and checking out with his "accountant" before purchasing the business so he can make a good decision based on solid facts, not just hypothetical meanderings. I for one support the Unions, the American workers, and the "Buy American" philosophy. I do not believe that we are on this planet alone and we must have relationships with other countries, however, I also believe it is time for America to get back to passing on the trades to the next generation, to making things, support of the small local businesses and farms,
and yes, helping out your neighbor when they are down and out as they would help you out.... Yes, there is a lot to be done in our country ... For a while my heart was very heavy and I wondered just where our country would be for my children and my grandchildren... and for the first time in a very long time, I feel hope...a hope that has renewed my spirit... that hope has come from the American people's ability to make the changes necessary (as hard as they may be) and move this country into a positive hopeful direction. How can he be nominated President when the NC votes were not ready yet. But all of a sudden he won and NC votes a normal Republican state. And now he has access to all Military secrets and more. And today he was briefed go figure that one. Why the sudden interest. Did you know people in the Military hand other affiliations of the Military have to get a stringent rigerous background check to have a Secret/top Secret clearance and he and senators dont have to. Joe the Plumber served a very important role in the election. He helped to reveal how pitifully without substance John McCain's campaign was. McCain didn't have a plan for the future, he had an unlicensed plumber to represent "everyman." Why are some of you so critical and criticize Joe the plumber .He is an average person who is not perfect as none of us are. The first one who is perfect cast the first stone at this man. I've watched the actual "Obama talks to Joe" video....Sen. Obama clearly explains his tax plan to this guy and tells him about the tax break he'd get....at the end of their talk, Joe smiles and the crowd around them cheers....now Joe says the senator was aggressive and confrontational. Joe also says he SHOULD pay higher taxes, not rich people.

My issue is the fact that Joe approached the Senator with deception in his heart. The premise of his question was a lie, his personal narrative was a lie and his post conversation reaction was an apparent lie. Meanwhile, Sen. Obama was being open, honest and respectfully engaging him in good faith..Joe was obviously looking for a "gotcha" moment,instead he got an honest response from a politician.

Obama explained his tax plan to Joe exactly as it's been posted on his campaign website for over a year. Joe is an ideologue who disagrees with a progressive tax table in favor of a flat tax. He also disagrees with Social Security. But Joe is a opportunistic hypocrite who has benefited from government assistance previously. Had Joe been campaigning for Ron Paul, he'd have a lot more credibility. And McCain/Palin would have a lot more credibility if they had chosen a real Republican who doesn't owe back taxes or doesn't disagree with what the MAJORITY of the electorate OBVIOUSLY want, to put up as the poster boy for 'Real America.'

Why is it that all the positive comments for McCain /Palin/Joe the plumber all seem to come from a segment of the electorate that murders the english language?? What I want to know is wether Joe 'everyman' was put up to the confrontation and by who(Fox News?). Obama answered the question in a polite, calm and reasonable manner. You could see in the perplexed and consternated look on Joe's face, that the details were going completely over his sweaty head. Have you ever employed anyone, made out a paycheck to an employee or even actually paid any taxes other than what is mandatorily taken out of a paycheck you may have received? After reading much of this website (gotten here by mistake) I now know why I prefer company of Republicans.......guys, hatred begins in your heart but it can eat you up. As a citizen of the US, his questions and concerns regarding Mr. Obama's proposed disbursement of our money were legitimate and relevant, since this candidate appears to exhibit socialistic leanings not compatible with our democaratic, capitalist society. The attacks on Joe personally--who was NOT running for office--are pointless and irrelevant. Au contraire, the personal life of Obama--who WAS running for office--includes a history of relationships with terrorists and other anti-American sorts. I have to say this is quite entertaining. I am a registered Republican and voted for Barack and am proud of it. Joe the plumber needs to make his first assignment President Bush. If I am not mistaken, it was he, his congress and his appointed justices that took away most civil liberties involving our privacy rights. Where were the watchdog groups then? Was blackwater (Cheney's private army) popping up at people's doors theratening them if they opened their mouths. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Do you guys really think that smart business people making over 250k are going to have a reduction of their take home due to taxes? Commodities, services, materials all will increase in cost to the consumers (typically lower to middle class) while the profit margin that the business owner takes home remains the same. Sadly, wages will not increase accordingly and jobs will become more scarce with expectations from business owners to produce more for less. This is a typical game between the liberals and conservatives going back and forth. The conservatives will take office and reduce overall taxes, profit margins escalate for a few years; then liberals take over, taxes are increased, cost of materials, commodities, and services escalate to make up the difference and the business owner is still taking home his now escalated profit. Isn't this fun? And when do you think we're going to get off of this train?
