McCain thanks supporters
John and Cindy McCain sent a thank-you message to supporters today that also encourages them to help President-elect Barack Obama.
Here's the message:
"Cindy and I would like to take a moment to thank you for your loyal and steadfast support during the course of this campaign. Governor Palin, her husband Todd, our families, friends and campaign staff extend our deep appreciation for your tireless dedication, support and friendship.
"It is the end of a long journey and your support through the ups and downs has meant more to us than you may ever know.
"Although we were disappointed with the results, we must move beyond this campaign and work together to get our country moving again.
"It is our sincere hope that you will join us in putting our country first and continue to work to keep our nation safe, free and prosperous.
"We urge you to join us in not just congratulating Senator Obama, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together as a nation. Whatever our differences may be, we are all fellow Americans.
"We are truly blessed to live in this great country and call ourselves Americans, and we will forever be her loyal servants.
"Today, let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth."
With warm gratitude,
Cindy and John McCain

I voted for Obama, but I respect John McCain, he is the man, he never really been negative, I think the campaign manager and staffers are the one to blame for in his lost, of course the biggest joke has to be dedicated to SARAH PALIN. Bad choice, the race would be much tighter if McCain running mate was either Romney or Liberman, but with Sarah PALIN, I am speechless. She did not know what was she talking about and she still does not know what is she talking about. She was and is a joke. I respect John McCain, I support Barack Obama, and I am proud to be American. God bless.
If it weren't for Palin, McCain might have had a chance (though a slim chance).
Good
Thank you, John McCain, for picking a retarded running mate who thinks Africa is country in South America.
Thank you, John McCain, for disseminating literature smearing Obama as a racist, socialist, marxist, terrorist, 'secret registered muslim' (whatever that is).
Thank you, John McCain, for refusing to make eyecontact with Obama in the first debate.
Thank you, John McCain, for calling Obama "that one" in the second debate.
Thank you, John McCain, for refusing to shake Obama's hand after the third debate.
Thank you, John McCain, for encouraging chants of "kill Obama" and "Hang Obama" at your October campaign rallies as you smiled and waved.
Stay classy, John McCain.
Signed, Amercia
Once again, this is very classy and I am glad to have the REAL John McCain back.
That's great. We received a thank you note from Barack Obama that he emailed on election night before going out to address the crowd. We thought that showed real class.
McCain began to redeem himself in my eyes with the gracious speech he gave on election night. I wish him the best and wish he hadn't let the campaign turn so ugly. We are all Americans and need to work together to solve the complex problems we're facing.
Thank you John McCain you have more class then any of these people who posted here, with their rude remarks. I wish you had won you were and still are better then Obama.
Thank you John McCain for not being a retard like Matt MacPherson.
I also voted for Obama, but highly respect John McCain. I did not want Palin to be in any position to have such power, which did influence my decision. Though unlikely, I think it would be really great if Obama gave McCain a place in his cabinet, or some kind of place in the new administration.
Now it's over it's time for criticism of John Mccain and his campaign team.I'm sorry John and your committee but I see this coming even before Sarah Palin enter the scene.Your mistake:The polls shows the best running mate for you was Mitt Romney and somehow and this is unclear whether you or your aids decided to go for Palin and to me that was an insult to all the conservatives that sees Romney as your only hope to win.Let me give you and those people close to you some advice about the secret to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. You guys need to come down to our level of thinking as voters and normal people with awareness of the real world we live in not the one you presume we live in.Romney represents not only family values but true leadership with the right kind of attitude and intelligent we approve of as clear and pure politics. Some critics look at it the other way but only a few of them but the majority admire and like Romneys vision and approach in solving problems .Romney could have been the shield in fending off the economic deadly sword that cut your campaign down to pieces.
Seriously folks...
take a moment to spell words and names correctly and attempt to construct a complete sentence while you're waiting on your government cheese.
u seem like a arragant well educated, teacher type, who is naturally underpaid, like the rest of them. Please try to come down to our level, for a change. the air is better down here Ray T
John McCain continues to live up to my expecttions. I have heard mention that he is a gratious loser. I agree that he is a loser and have never understood how he became the Republican candidate. If Palin had not appeared he would never have come a close as he did. His tactics have always been predictable. When the SC Republican party ran ads depicting Obama and Rev Wright, McCain jumped in within 15 minutes to dennounce the Republicans and defend Obama. He spent more effort trying to promote a phony "nice guy who loves his enemies" than fighting for the Presidency. I am sure he satisfied his own ego but once again let the Republicans down. When his aids attack Palin, where is John? The reason his concession speach was so well rehearsed is I believe he wrote it before he was nominated. Grow up Republicans, next time pick a Republican and a winner. Oh yes John says he is a Maverick. Yea Judas must have been a Maverick too, I don't think Jesus recognized it.
I commend Senator Obama for his historic win, even though I did not vote for the gentleman. On the other hand, I deplore the attacks that are still being made on Governor Sarah Palin. Tasteless, tacky and totally petty.
I almost voted for McCain and thought that his concession speach was very moving and touching and made me respect him. The sad part is in the ballot box.. the thought of Sarah Palin becoming President put so much doubt in me (considering McCain's age) that i voted the other way. Another other VP Candidate would have definitely won my vote. But as we say.. hind sight is 20-20.
I supported you all the way! I too am an adoptive Mom and am faced with loosing, very soon, my son of 6 years because of this government. Please Cindy email me. Can either of you help us? I would explain more here but there is not enough room tp get it al in use this email address and let me know if we can talk.
