May He find a position for Deval... PLEASE get him out of MA!
Where do Ayers and Wright fit in?
What about Rezko, Ayers, Dorne, Rev. Wright, and I hear Dianne Wilkerson is looking for work.
I see frizz is just a little racist. Really!!!
How many of these newly chosen friends are black?
seriously Frizz? wow!
anyone notice that the states Mccain won are the states no one outside of them would ever want to live in?
Please do not take Deval, we need him right here.
@# 2 They will be in your closets waiting for you!
@#3 wow, racist much.
When you think of Massachusetts you tend to think the people there as mature, educated and progressive in their thoughts and opinions. But as I read the three comments made thus far to this article I am disappointed. My only guess is that they were simply very bad joke made by mindless teenagers with little or no education or understanding of history, politics, or current events in this country. What a shame!
Please tell me comment #3 is a joke...
President-Elect Obama: Please spend money on education so "frizz" can learn to spell and use correct grammar.
I am so glad that Obama won. The US has a chance to get back to the beliefs it was built apon instead catering to fear mongering people who can't see a minute past now or a cent past a penny. But it's not their fault. We haven't supported quality education for years. ..education which ultimately teaches people to be citizens of the United States by understanding history, learning how to think independenly and caring about their neighbors across the street, across the town and across the country. Yay for the future of this country!
wow, frizz, its Mitt Romney and Giuliani. But I like your style. I would love for Mitt to have a job...secretary of the Treasury perhaps. I liked Mitt for president but, I will have to wait until 2012.
Nothing like asking for comments to draw out the worst of the "Moron Nation"...if nothing else, the election should finally put you idiots in your place, the loud minority of right-wing zealots whose time has passed...fade quietly into oblivion and cede us our country and flag back.
Hey good one Citi, ready for four more years of feeling like a frustrated loser? :)
Oh good god Frizz....seriously? wow...
Mitt Rodney? Come on now, your better than that.
I'm guessing frizz is your typical Obama voter.
It's Romney not Rodney. It's Rudy Giuliani not Giualiano. He has no idea about the issues, just voted for him because he's black.
Hey Frizz before you go bashing Mitt & Rudy learn how to speak the ENGLISH language " a job clean your bed " ??? IDIOT
I supported Obama and I am horrified at the thought of John Kerry being Secretary of State. Obama was a far better choice than McCain and I suppose not everyhting will be 100% of what we all want. However, the thought, of having Kerry's ego and stride on the front page of newspaper in the world makes me ill.
great day for minorities, bad day for alyaw hillbillies/hicks.
it should be called the black house from now on.
Why do I feel today the same way I did on September 12, 2001?
Bewildered, vulnerable and angry. No to an American hero and yes to an American Idol.
Here comes WWIII now that B.O. has won! Between him and the Devil of Mass this country and this state surely are doomed! This state is pathetic with it's people constantly voting in thieves, crooks, swindlers, and double talkers into office. May the Democrats of this state fall on their swords of lies!
Think "O" yes for Obama, time for change !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay people - enough of the racist undertones. Skin color isn't what matters here - effectiveness is. No need to be nasty. Grow up.
breathefree- us right wing zealots are necessary to balance out you left wing loons and your Messiah will hand us back our country and our flag in four years - think Jimmy Carter.
The transition team's first order of business will be to brainstorm a way to blame Bush for Obama not following through on a single campaign promise.
I feel sorry for all the people who voted for a president of change. So far Barack has brought in a Washington crony (Biden) and there is talk that he will soon be bringing in some of Bill Clinton's cast offs. Some change. What a joke.
I hope everyone has kissed their money goodbye!
The newly-elected Obama has his work cut out for him - just like any other incoming President inheriting this mess. Let's just hope the country gets back on the right track - isn't that what it's all about???
Based on the initial posts here, there are a lot of uneducated, ignorant sore losers. This is no time to be bitter. It's not about being black or white, republican or democrat, etc. We are Americans dealing with serious issues on many fronts. It's time to make sacrifices and work together to get out of this mess. You complainers probably didn't even vote. Go join the Army and it will probably be the best thing that ever happened to you.
To frizz and logtown : Remember these words..."Father forgive them they know not what they have done" your reverse racism is a shame on a day you should be joyous - however you are going to have to live with the mess your Messiah will leave for you and for us to clean up in four short years - my guess is we'll be cleaning and you will have your hand out palm up ... I say again ...Jimmy Carter.
Spooky grow-up or take your childish posts else where. Perhaps to teenager chat forums.
Silly people.
Smoot keeps time in a relative sense.
Always interesting to see how many idiots are out there! Obama is just a man, an intelligent and a brave one, but a man.
He will be as successful as many of his supporters expect but fail at saving the world. I wish him much success and happiness while he and his family are in office. I hope and pray that he will remain the thoughtful, calm and articulate person he is today, as he deals with other world leaders.
EJ - I voted - I stood in line with some morons who received money to vote from ACORN. The Army wouldn't have your type. Your new President is responsible for the divide. Viva La Revolution - The United States of America's new name is "New France"
Day 1 post election has the Dow down 500 points, Russia is deploying missiles on the Poland border and Hamas and Israel have restarted fighting after a 5 month truce. Not a great start. I can't wait for all of the Obamabots to tell me it is just a coincidence.
Spooky - Not sure about WWIII but you are dead on about our constantly electing and re-electing the same bozos, incompetants and crooks in Massachusetts!
Responding to #8...I am originally from MA and have lived in a few different parts of the country. Your comment is incredibly arrogant and ignorant. I bet you've never lived anywhere but Massachusetts and probably not traveled much outside of the state. I'm sure you're an Obama supporter. He and his supporters keep talking about bringing people together. So much for that huh? You don't need a passport to travel to other states. Why don't you go to a few before you slam them.
Some sore losers out there I see. All you clowns would have voted for Hoover in 1932. You'd have been tories in the 1770s. Move over. History is on the move!
Frizz is a good example of all the non educated people that voted for Obama and want a free ride in this country at the expense of all the hard working people who made a career and work full time to take care of their families. What a shame this country is coming to.
Everyone wants to blame Bush for the problems in our country when in fact the mess started as Clinton was leaving office. Also, the recession we are coming to is not b/c of Bush but b/c of our house full of democratic people. Ever hear the name Barney Mac or Fannie Mae!! Empty your bank accounts now folks before LOBama gets a hold!
Mitt Rodney? Who's he?
Don't worry "frizz", you'll still continue to get everything for free!!!
Get ready for higher taxes!
Amazing.
The guy wins an historic election by a near landslide and we still have morons on this page talking about Bill Ayres and Reverend Wright. McCain already used that strategy. How'd that work out for him? And now we have someone who thinks adding Mitt to the team would be a good idea. Nevermind that he's a Republican. Nevermind that he's a sleazy, two faced sneak who even McCain never trusted. Let's give him a place in the Federal government. Some of you people are much scarier than Reverend Wright.
Wow. I am actually a little embarrassed to be from Boston after reading this. Is this a discussion board or a place to trade insults? Would McCain have been better? Maybe, but so might Gore or Kerry have been better than Bush. We'll never know, we got what we got and now we all need to make it work.
Or sit here and insult each other. Ya, thats gonna get the wars ended, and the economy moving, and our children educated.
Frizz is a good example of all the non educated people that voted for Obama and want a free ride in this country at the expense of all the hard working people who made a career and work full time to take care of their families. What a shame this country is coming to.

Jimlin.. Frizz.. Spooky .... Ayers and Wright fit nicely and squarely in the deep recesses of your minute brains and you will end your days steeped in bigotry. Heaven help you ...
I do believe we started kissing our money goodbye 8 years ago; from Enron to Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae....and our bank accounts have already been emptied to fund the war and line the pockets of the already rich. It's unfortunate that there are those who don't understand American history nor appreciate that they are presently witnessing and experiencing American history...
So much hatred, ignorance and reverse racism! WOW! Amazing!
Foodforthought,
Your comments (#8) are very elitist and typical of a northeast liberal. MA is the state that is losing population. The red states are looking better and better every day.
Well, it's official. Massachusetts white people are stupid, ignorant racists who are completely out of touch with the rest of the world. You are so sheltered that you think all black people are like Diane Wilkerson. I feel sorry for you for living in such a pathetic little world. The rest of the world is laughing at people like you...AND, if you had an ounce of sense, and you'd look at the stupid, unsophisticated, anti-intellectual mistakes McCain made along the way, sealing his own fate (uhh, choosing palin and pandering to idiots like Joe the Plumber). My grandmother would have been a better candidate, and she's been dead since 1972. I really thought this state was better than that, but apparently ignorant white trash is alive and well in the Bay State.
Being a war hero doesn't make you a good president, you idiots. McCain was woefully underqualified for the role of President.
Today, I am proud of my President Elect and EMBARASSED to be living in Massachuetts. You people should leave Boston every now and then to see how truly stupid you are.
Capeguy, the markets have been up over the past few days before today when it was a certainty that Obama would win. Educate yourself on the markets.
i am ashamed to be from boston. i am ashamed to read some of these posts. in this day and age you would think that educated minds would be past racism and derogatory statements. i hope one day you all realize the error of your ways....before its too late. deathbed confessions do nothing to save your soul.
watch your pockets everyone when O'B gets in there. You'll have nothing left in them...
cathy (#6),
how many newly chosen friends are black???
1) read the article. obama has known and worked with some these people for years...
2) who cares if they are black? do you wonder the same thing when your favorite sports team selects from the draft???
such palpable anger....
I hope everyone is ready for 'change'. Because that's what you will have left in your bank account once Obamanomics kick in.
Bush has been the WORST president in the history of this country. Even a chimp would have been better. Having an educated guy in the white house who can actually pronounce "nuclear" the way it is spelled puts us light years ahead.
McCain lost because of Bush. The irony is that both McCain and Obama are fairly in their outlook. I am am hopeful that they will work together.
Now not sure but all I hear is afro-american...he is still 1/2 caucasian correct? Just wondering if that side of him disappeared when he won last night!
Greg - only in your dreams there will be revolution but not here and not now. Serious Americans including John McCain will put partisanship aside and work with our President to get this country back on track. Obama is your President too whether you like it or not. Unless you're not American, in which case get out of this country. lol.
I don't think Obama will be a perfect president, but doesn't it make any of you bitter Republicans even a little happy to see the outpouring of love for America that's coming from all over the world because of this election? People want to look to America for inspiration, and after eight disastrous years, they can do so once again. Are you all so inward-looking that the hopes and dreams of your fellow world citizens don't matter to you? I hope for all our sakes you someday wake up and join the human race.
Stephanie Cutter?? Wasn't she John Kerry's spokes for the 2004 campaign?
Speaking of Kerry, how does making him Secretary of State, with Joe Biden as VP, represent "Change"? It's hard to find towo more boring re-treads in all of Washington!
Frizz has no clue about anything. He just voted for OBAMA because he's a brother. How could anyone vote for a guy who's wife said this was the first time she's ever REALLY been proud to be an AMERICAN?? I thought OBAMA was going to pick a Washington outsider as his running mate? Since he entered the race for the presidency of the United States he has already shown he can't be trusted twice. He is a typical politican. He went back on his word to accept public financing and then picked a BIG INSIDER as his V.P. GOOD LUCK AMERICA!! We got what we deserve. I hope I'm wrong but let's wait & see.
the people wanted change and change is what they will get. Just don't complain when the Messiah increases your taxes, quashes your free speech and then tells you that YOU are the problem. Just like a typical democrat
My friends, it doesn't matter what happened yesterday. What counts is what will happen on Jan. 21, 2009. We do not know this man. But what is truly baffling is what happened here in Massachusetts. We did not throwv the rascals out! Here they come, DiMasi giving millions to his friends. To Barney Frank who caused this crisis. To John Kerry who took 17 million from Wall Street interests. Do you realize that we have NO control over this state government? We cannot recall an elected state official. The constitution doesn't allow it.. We cannot amend our constitution because only the legistature can sit as a constituional convention, which we have witnessed is ineffective. The Constitutional republic can only exist at the consent of the governed. Where is our consent? The MTA and other unions have co-opted our ability to control our money. Perhaps we should expand the name from the "People's Republic of Cambridge" to the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts!
everyone need to just let the air out of their emotiions here. The election is over and change is coming. I am comforted by the fact that at least we will not have an idiot in the white house.
It's either Bill Weld or Hillary getting a job in D.C. If Hillary gets the job then Weld is going to get appointed to her seat in the senate.
im realy happy that obama not only a president but our president now i can say godbless america people say he will never make it but god say yes he will pleaswe obama my country need your help haiti please i konw that there is alot to do here in america my people need your help they pray god for you more then they pray for themself and god will bless you in everything that you do godbless america.
Why isn't our current President, George W. Bush, addressing any of these problems that have come up, allegedly as a result of yesterday's election? Oh, wait, that is why yesterday's election went the way it did. Anyone associated with the current administration was thrown out on their ear due to the situation we are in and the ineffective way the executive authority was used over the last 8 years. I know the conservatives are unhappy right now, but this is what non conservatives went through 8 years ago when a flunkie was elected president and appointed a cabinet of his dad's cronies. What comes around goes around. Here's to breaking the cycle
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
most of you should be ashamed of yourselves -- what dumb nonsense you are slinging around here. we should be proud of our country for speaking up loud and clear and telling the world and our country that we need something to change. i am proud to see an election outcome that crossed party lines, racial barriers, and socioeconomic divides. yes, mccain is a war hero, but i doubt he would have been an effective president. i woke today feeling the world is a better place.
I look forward confidently to the day when all who work for a living will be one with no thought to their separateness as Negroes, Jews, Italians or any other distinctions. This will be the day when we bring into full realization the American dream -- a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men will not take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few; a dream of a land where men will not argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; a dream of a nation where all our gifts and resources are held not for ourselves alone, but as instruments of service for the rest of humanity; the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality.
it all started with Regan. The day he took office the national debt was 256 Billion.
In just 28 years the the Bushes and Regan ran up 11 trillion in debt.
What a mess to leave to somene.
It's truly amazing how many people posting here are brainwashed puppets of the neo-cons running the Republican party. (Well, for most of them it looks like it only took a light rinse, not a full wash).
I guess we really do need to increase our educational standards in this country.
If our country is going to turn things around, we need to learn to trust each other, agree to disagree, and then get to work rebuilding our country. The campaigns are over...which is an opportunity to let go of attacks and accusations. We've all heard the quote, "Be the change you want to see in the world." C'mon people, no one person can save us or damn us...it's all of us working for a better future that will turn the tide in America and as a result in the world...if we care enough to change ourselves.
so i guess #46 knows absolutely nothing about Obama's economic plan why don't you take a look at his plan and then write an educated post.
People have criticized Obama for being inexperienced, but his staff picks show that he is no dumb cookie. He is wisely surrounding himself with people who have more experience than he does. I love it that he's hitting the ground running, assembling his team without a moment to lose. We've just handed this man the most difficult, impossible job in the world. I don't envy him for a minute and I wish him all the goodwill and support I can give him.
1.20.13
a democrat president and a democrat majority senate equal "WELFARE"- you minorities, line up for your free handouts!!!!!!!!!!!
I Hope BLACK AMERICA does not think having a BI-RACIAL President gives them a free pass . Obama worked hard and sacrificed to achieve his goals, without a father. I hope there are no more excuses for single parents.
Republi-can'ts: Welcome to the 21st century. John McCain and the GOP lost the election because they were so focused on fear-tactics to keep the power that they completely turned off the majority of the people in this country. The GOP is so out of ideas it's ridiculous, and as a result, they just experienced political evolution. The first thing you hear and will hear out of their mouths is that McCain wasn't conservative enough and that's why he lost. Conservative compared to what...Reagan? Republican analysts always talk about the Reagan years like they were the glory years, which I think is pretty telling of the GOP. The problem is that when Republicans try to solve the problems of the future they always rely on their ideas of the past. Reagan became President almost 30 years ago the world has changed A LOT in since then. Your black and white policies of the 80's don't work anymore, they definitely haven't worked in the last 8 years, and so why don't all of you take the next four years to reflect instead of pointing fingers. The world is changing, the problems today are much more complicated, and it's time you get over it and join the rest of us as Americans.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst. That's all anyone can do. Treat your country as you would treat your own family---love it like no other!!
No, I didn't vote for Obama. But, he certainly has my full support. The world doesn't end on one President's election. That's why we have checks and balances. Unfortunately, the Democrats control the house and senate as well.
Racism? I just can't understand why the finger is pointed at "white" America when the "Black" Americans are claiming VICTORY for their race. Who's being racist in this election? Get over yourselves...we're ALL EQUAL!!! It says so in the constitution, if you'd bother to read it.
None of us could figure out what 'change' Osama Jr. was talking about. However, I think we just found it....brainwashmerica. good job uneducated americans for voting for Osama.
K (comment 82): I have three degrees, and campaigned alongside a score of friends that have the same level of education. I daresay that is more than you have attained, so perhaps you should not be so quick to make assumptions about who voted for Obama. You, on the other hand, apparently suffer from a need to go back for some refresher courses on basic grammar, literacy, and capitalization. Here's the irony -- apparently in your view, it would have been preferable to vote for a ticket that included a man who graduated fourth from the bottom of his class at the Naval Academy and a woman who floated around to five colleges in six years in order to achive a bachelor's degree. Ha! Have a great night!
Please consider James K. Galbraith for Treasury. On Moyers show, he proved to be optimistic and LUCID! Thanks.
MG....unlike you I work and do not have the time to sit here and properly write a paragraph. You must be killing time until Obama sends you the next welfare check. And in my view it would be best to vote for a man who graduated from one of the best institutions in the country. Do we actually know who Obama is? Didn't he state that he has campaigned in 57 states? I may need a course in grammar, but at least I know there are 50 states. And I also know that there are 57 Islamic States. Ha Ha Enjoy my money you lazy welfare collector.
You all are pretty STUPID racist. You, and your damn ancestors OWE US A FREE PASS!!! Enslavement for over 400 years, with no 40 acres and no mule!!! My ancestors BUILT THIS COUNTRY FOR FREE. Yes, he will help us but he is the President with an interest for everyone. No one has ever did any thing for us!!!!
I am an educated African American, with a masters in Nursing!! How dare you?!
