President-elect Barack Obama's transition office today released its first monthly list of donors, saying that as of Nov. 15, a total of $1,170,937.44 had been raised from 1,776 donors.
The office said the voluntary disclosure fulfills Obama's pledge to run the "most open and transparent" presidential transition ever. It is only accepting contributions of up to $5,000 from individuals and is refusing money from corporations, labor unions, political action committees, registered federal lobbyists, and registered foreign agents.
Among those giving $5,000 was Alan Solomont, who led Obama's campaign fund-raising in New England.

Wonder how long it took for them to remove all of the foreign contributions that were made throughout his campaign? Don't see any of those, so I'm guessing the list was stripped of all of those contributions.
And you gotta wonder how many "fake names" are in there under the same person's credit card, allowing for more than the maximum? "Transparent" my ass. Business as usual for the Obama folks, I see. They don't reply to legitimate issues brought up by a few people in the media a month before the election, whereby it was *proven* that his campaign was allowing foreign contributions and multiple contributions from the same credit card but with fake names. Don't address it, and it just goes away. Which allows the business as usual to continue - great way to start a Presidency - lying to the public. Anyone who thinks differently is deluding themselves.
Yes, Linda! I think the same way, too: anybody who doesn't agree with me is delusional. Donors - like voters responding to polls - don't always tell the whole truth. And some might be hiding from the ire of folk who are quick to criticize their opinions.
The Obama campaign was raking in so much money from millions of small donors that it was impractical for them to know the origin of every nickle and dime. And when an illegal donation was brought to their attention, they promptly returned the money or gave it to charity.
Frankly, I do not want my contribution to the Obama campaign publicized. I should have given a lot more than I did!
Yet again - Foon Rhee ensures that responses that have links to the Washington Post story giving proof that Obama's campaign was accepting money from foreign countries and from multiple (and fake) names on the same credit card. How very interesting that the Boston Globe continues to NOT report the facts - but no surprise of the leftist Globie, is it? Look it up - Google "obama accepting untraceable donations" and the Washington Post story is FIRST.
NewFocus - suffice to say that Obama took money from everywhere - some of which was against Federal Law. If McCain and Hillary Clinton could turn on the AVS system, why couldn't Obama? Oh that's right - because he continues to LIE to the country.
And if you seriously believe they gave BACK the "fake people" illegal donations , you are truly delusional.
