Obama grassroots event next weekend
Trying to keep his grassroots army engaged and enthused, President-elect Barack Obama's camp this evening told supporters to put Dec. 13 and 14 on their calendars.
That weekend will be for house meetings across the country to talk about Obama's agenda and how to make it happen.
"Since the election, the challenges we face -- and our responsibility to take action -- have only gotten more urgent," Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, wrote in an email, timed for exactly one month since the election.
"You can connect with fellow supporters, make progress on the issues you care about, and help shape the future of your community and our country."
More than any candidate before him, Obama marshalled the Internet, both to raise money from thousands of small donors, and to organize volunteers.
