Palin's daughter reportedly has baby boy

Posted by Foon Rhee, deputy national political editor December 29, 2008 06:49 PM

Sarah Palin's teenage daughter has given birth to a baby boy, People magazine is reporting this evening.

"The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited," the magazine quotes Palin's aunt, Colleen Jones, as saying.

The 7 lb 4 oz baby was born Sunday in Palmer, Alaska, and is named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston. His father, Levi Johnston, and Bristol Palin, 18, have said they plan to marry.

Her pregnancy became public within days after John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. The disclosure was made on the first day of the Republican convention to rebut Internet rumors that the vice presidential nominee's youngest child, born in the spring, was actually Bristol's baby and that Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy to cover it up.

That's odd. I was told the baby's name was to be Cessna Turnpike Brawn Johnston.

The question is, will he be a high school dropout like his daddy, or will he focus his interests on oxycontin distribution like his grandma?

The best to the baby, the mother, and the family. God bless.

Her name is Bristol, Mr Foon. If it were Chelsea Clinton would your headline have read "Clinton daughter ...' Bigot.

Does Bristol still have to marry that guy now that Gov. Palin lost her bid for Vice President?

Perhaps President Elect Obama, in the spirit of reaching out should offerl to host Trip and Bristol's wedding sometime this pring in the White House's Rose Garden.

Those who want to send guifts to the bride and groom are urged instead to send shoes to President Bush in his home in Texas.

Still "planning to marry?" When? After Caribou Barbie announces her 2012 run?

In other news, the other gramma presented the infant with an engraved silver crack pipe.

If this was Chelsea Clinton, would the right wing be supportive or say how morals have declined? If you say supporitive then you need to explain.

Such drool. RNC'ers were busting their buttons over Sarah knowingly giving birth to a Down's Syndrome child, displaying same on stage. Even the evangelists were tapping their toes when the under age couple held hands on stage having announced their marriage intentions, thus granting the untidy situation an "honorable" status and OK to sweep under the rug and move on. Now the grandma-in-law has found felony drug charges delivered to her doorstep. So much for the small town livin', clean air and church goin' political types. The Obama lifestyle sure is boring.

the best to all of them. It is sad that so much attention has been placed on a teen pregnancy--- I think they should be left alone.
This country needs to get it's priorities straight... More attention needs to be focused on stopping teen pregnancy & other social issues instead of almost glorifying it. Way too much attention is given to celebrity status and their opinions become ours---and most times, they are just not right. There is no way we can expect our children to do better than us, if we don't change our attitudes and focus on more important things.... jmho...

*Mr. Johnson: the birth of Jesus was the BEST thing that has ever happened to human kind!
