Poll: Americans confident in Obama
Americans are confident that President-elect Barack Obama will be able to improve America's standing both at home and abroad, according to a poll released this afternoon.
In the survey by CNN/Opinion Research Corp., 74 percent of respondents said they were very or somewhat confident that Obama will improve economic conditions and 63 percent were confident that he will withdraw US combat troops from Iraq by April 2010.
Also, 68 percent said they were confident that he will keep the country safe from terrorism, and 79 percent said he will improve relations with other countries.
Sixty-three percent oppose the Iraq war, about the same level as for months, and are evenly divided about whether the US is winning, about the same as in August, but improved from last year.
On the other hand, 52 percent support the war in Afghanistan, up from 46 percent support in July, but only 36 percent believe the US is winning there. Obama wants to send more troops to Afghanistan, and 55 percent of respondents favored that.
The poll, conducted Monday and Tuesday, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Wait a minute here.... I thought 85% of the people who voted for this guy where not Americans......at least I wouldn't consider them one. Any real true "American" by definition would NEVER vote for an anti Constitution, socialist.......would they????
"Don't blame me. I did not vote for Obama"
The only thing this article proves is that over half of Americans are morons. Read the article carefully. The numbers are meaningless. My prediction is that at best Obama will be a mediocre president.
And we're certain Mr. Obama was born in the United States, correct?
See what happens when we put a competent, smart man in the White House? Americans overwhelmingly approve.
74% Approval Rating. Wow!
America is back!
