Obama jets west in search of campaign cash
President Obama smashed fund-raising records during his campaign, and now he'll be trying in earnest to transfer his golden touch to Democratic allies.
He's on a two-day jaunt to fill the campaign coffers of key Democrats, starting with an event tonight at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas to raise money for Harry Reid, the top Democrat in the Senate. On Wednesday, Obama will be in California to hit up donors for the Democratic National Committee at the Beverly Hills Hilton.
When he lands in Vegas, Obama might also want to mend some fences. Mayor Oscar Goodman and Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons called on Obama to apologize after the president -- during his CEO bonus-bashing tack in February -- complained that corporations receiving taxpayer bailouts shouldn't be sending executives to Sin City junkets.
