Obama speaks to pope about Kennedy

In his meeting with Pope Benedict XVI today, President Obama asked him to pray for Senator Edward M. Kennedy and delivered a personal letter from the ailing senator.
White House national security aide Denis McDonough told reporters traveling with Obama that the president's discussion with the pope concluded with a talk about Kennedy, who is battling brain cancer.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters that as Air Force One lifted off , Obama phoned Kennedy and they spoke for about 10 minutes.
Asked about the letter, Gibbs replied, "The contents of the letter were not known to anybody that I know of except Senator Kennedy."
UPDATE: Kennedy's office declined to release the letter, saying it is private.

I agree, how totally rude. There are such hateful people in the world. The Kennedy's have done so much for people of the Commonwealth and beyond.
One is the National Seashore being preserved along the Cape, involvement in the Special Olympics, advocates for elderly and poor, and helping with heating oil.
If you have nothing good to say, say NOTHING.

The Kennedy family has devoted their entire lives to public service. Whether you're a democrat or a republican, agree with their politics or not, you cannot deny nor denigrate the sacrifices the Kennedy's have endured trying to give the people of this country a better quality off life. And yes, they have made mistakes. Who amongst us hasn't. But I'm not qualified to be their judge and neither are any of you. So if you want to tear them down you'll have to come through me.
Without Ted Kennedy's work on behalf of the ordinary hard working citizens of Massachusetts and the entire country we would all be much worse off. Unfortunately most of the people who have benfitted from his efforts are totally unaware of it. Please read a list of the legislation he has worked on. No one cares as much for the working people as he does. God Bless him.

What's the matter? Is there no such thing as free speach? That's right this is a left wing paper. Only liberals can blog . I was rejected 2 times from the blogger. It's a shame that jurnalism is no longer. No wonder the paper is going to the ground. Pretty soon you will be living hand to mouth like everyone else that is watching the country go to socalism. You people that support the Kennedy's have to come to the 21st Century. Ted hasn't been relevent since the 80's.
I agree with what Roger said and it is about time that he comes clean to his acts of cowardness. Those things that you do not want to admit that he covered up need to get a grip. As like anyone that has the resources to cover things up will.
So now Obama is a messenger boy for Kennedy? If so - I am sure this is private. Why is it in the national news?
What if it were George W in Teddy's place right now? I'm sure there would be stupid ignorant louts who would rip that man to shreds on his death bed too.
What is wrong with supposed human beings who have to take shots at another man or woman who happens to be preparing to meet his maker. Leave the very sick man and his family alone and let them get through what they have to get through without morons such as Roger spewing venom at them

Are any of you denying that he shold confess for his sins on the horrible evening? He proclaims to be a Catholic, us Catholics confess our sins...espcially before death.
I made no mention of being perfect myself...perhaps if you just read what I wrote and not add your own ending to it you would understand the question.
