President Obama's grassroots political arm announced this morning that it will host a "listening tour" across Massachusetts to reenergize supporters behind his agenda that is running into roadblocks in Congress.
Organizing for America's tour starts Saturday with stops in Springfield and Northampton, and will make additional stops in Lexington and Worcester in early October before going on to Hyannis, Boxford, New Bedford, Lynn, and Boston.
"We're here with one goal in mind -- to listen,” John Spears, the group's Massachusetts state director, said in a statement. “The historic dedication and commitment of our supporters is what brought us victory in November and is what will help us advance President Obama's bold vision for the country over the coming years. They, more than anyone else, know what approaches will work best in their community and we’re eager to hear from them.”
In recent months, the group has organized more than 18,000 events in support of Obama's health care plan.
