Brown criticizes comedian, TV show for calling his daughters 'prostitutes'
WASHINGTON – Scott Brown is criticizing comedian Kathy Griffin for referring to his two daughters as “prostitutes” on a television show.
“People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits,” the Massachusetts Republican said this afternoon in a statement. “I love my daughters Ayla and Arianna very much, and any parent would be proud to have them as children. Kathy Griffin and BRAVO ought to be ashamed of themselves.”
During a show that aired on Tuesday night on BRAVO, Griffin is being quizzed by CNN reporters Jon King and Dana Bash. When King flashes a photo of Brown, Griffin answers, “Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts. And has two daughters that are prostitutes.”
Bash begins laughing, and then the clip stops and Griffin says, “And now, a brief message from bravo’s legal team: Scott Brown’s daughters NOT prostitutes!!! We now return you to our regularly scheduled negativity.”
The network did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
