Philip Morrison; MIT professor helped create atom bomb

Philip Morrison, Institute Professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who helped develop the atomic bomb during World War II and later became one of America's most distinguished teachers of science, died in his sleep Friday in his Cambridge home.
