NEW YORK—Solar power company Trina Solar Ltd. raised its full-year revenue forecast Monday, saying it expects to sell more solar modules.

On average, analysts expected $795.5 million in revenue, according to Thomson Reuters.

For the third quarter, Trina is expecting to ship 62 MW to 66 MW of photovoltaic modules, and it called for revenue of $250 million to $265 million. Analysts expect an average of $225.8 million.

A one-megawatt plant running continuously at full capacity can power 778 households each year, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The company also reported its second-quarter results Monday.

Trina shares rose 61 cents, or 2 percent, to $31.60 in morning trading.
