Benjamin Yaeger, 3, of Plymouth today released a Northern Red-bellied Cooter, an endangered turtle species found only in Southeastern Massachusetts.

The turtles -- 138 of them -- were released in the Pocksha and Great Quittacas ponds in Middleborough as part of a local program to help the species.
