Researchers at the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences on Cape Cod are at the forefront of a global effort to study and save these oystercatchers, plovers, and sandpipers. On a recent day, Rob Kluin, Charles Duncan, Dean Steeger, and Brian Harrington of the Manomet center scanned South Beach for shorebirds. The beach is an important stopover spot for food and rest for migratory shorebirds.
