Often confused with emperor penguins, the king penguin's range is
farther to the north than the emperor's habitat in Antarctica. King
penguins can stand almost three feet tall and adults weigh about 33 pounds.
King penguins can be identified by the orange coloring on their breasts,
more slender bodies and longer bills than emperor penguins. During
breeding, males often extend and throw their head back, bow or sing a
trumpet-like song to impress females.
