Alex’s dystonia began to affect him as a 2-year-old when his family still lived in Kazakhstan: his foot dragged behind him, and by age five, he could not hold a pen or feed himself well. But after they moved to America when he was six, medication helped him get better. Here, at age 7, he happily helps with yard work.
