Snowfall and the Celtics... then and now
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Nearly 17 years ago, in March of 1994, The Boston Globe used an image of then-Celtics big-man Robert Parish in a graphic illustrating that season's record snowfall totals. Parish, who stands 84.5-inches tall, was eclipsed by the season's 89.5-inch snow jackpot.
Now, The Boston Globe and Boston.com have come up with a graphic using an image of current Celtics star Shaquille O'Neal (85-inches tall) compared to the 60.3 inches of snow the region had received already (and it's only late January).
Will the 2010-2011 season's snowfall surpass Shaq's height? Will it break the record of 102.8 inches that fell in 1995-1996? Stay tuned.
