Count this as one of the most heartwarming sports moments of the year. A 7-year-old boy battling brain cancer ran the field with the Nebraska Huskers at the team's spring practice game. Jack Hoffman suited up in a No. 22 Rex Burkhead jersey and ran 69 yards for a touchdown in front of an emotional 60,000 fans.

Jack was diagnosed with a brain tumor in April 2011 and has had two surgeries. He’s now on a two-week break from a 60-week chemotherapy regimen, according to ESPN.com. As The Daily Nebraskan, reports one of the surgeries was performed at Boston’s Children’s Hospital.

Jack summed up the day with three words: “It was awesome.”
